anyone have any ideas for stuff or clever NPCs for the Bug City.
I'm thinking some silkworm old ladies spinning threads in the market, and some little roach kids running about.

[UNITY] (Paid) Looking for experience programmer for 16 bit game

Hey there.
I'm looking for an addition to my super small team who is aiming to create a commercial retro rpg.

We are looking for a capable and invested partner, who is willing to work on the games engine with a stake in any money the game can generate. We can't offer any hourly compensation at this time, but are looking for a coder to invest in the idea and become one of the co-owners of this project.

I'm done with rpg maker and am trying to elevate from hobby to business.
I'm thinking Unity 2d would be good, but am open to negotiation.

I am the designer/artist and am already going to town on assets and maps.

We have an experienced composer who I worked with on my Eagleland project.

Anywhere enough with the sales pitch, here's the game.

The game aims to be a throwback snes rpg with platforming, puzzle and adventure elements to slice up the traditional jrpg formula.

If you think you have the drive and ability to help us with our dream, contact me pls.

Let's make a game.

Bulma, You dare tl;Dr real criticism then post a wall of text about your hair or whatever. Paging Dr. Freud...

Nothing in that map looks good. I would start over. A fresh approach might work out. Maybe with thicker rooftops, idk, just a thought

Still working on establishing rough moods for each Kingdom world. Desert bug land pictured here.

The carpet design still has that resolution problem someone else already mentioned. That design would work at snes resolution but definitely looks out place here. Maybe reapproach it and adapt a similar design using the proper pixel ratio.

Trying to set some moods of the other trash kingdoms.
The Woodworking Kingdom of Carpentos,
The Hardwood Forest, with a view of the capital city, Tabletop:

Still very WIP, will smooth out the paths and add some more stuff no doubt.

Calunio that looks great, check the diagonals on the left and right though, it appears they may be a pixel off, where the "wall" seems to bulge out a bit towards the camera.

also you may want to increase the shadow in front of the character.

small nitpicks, it looks really cool!

I like your style Luchino, but I can't help feeling the characters would feel less stiff with a better stance....

Walls and floor are a little too close in appearance.

I agree with Sated.
it has a lot of contrast between warm and cool colors.

Though if you bust out your image editing program, and warm up those cool gray tiles, add some red/brown value to them, same with the grass and large boulders and I know it will look more cohesive.

Would love to see that in action, Erave.

Some battle mockups..

Remove the black outline on the mountain for sure. Also things tend to get bluer and more grayed out as they go into the distance.
