When you guys say the trees are out of place do you mean stylistically not matching or like the fact that these healthy trees are existing in a Landfill world?

Collaborating with a new artist for my Kingdoms of the Dump project. Finally getting further and further away from the " earthbound " look.

I like the maps, Luchino, but my nitpick is about the sprites in the screen, not the map.
I may have said this before, but those poses are so rigid and unnatural they throw my eye off every time. Every is standing like a stiff cardboard cutout. Smaller sprites can get away with this without it looking too weird, but since you are using more realistic proportions and a taller sprite size you should consider adjusting their standing poses. Like okay, maybe a soldier could or would stand like that, but regular townspeople/other characters would definitely not. You are already making all these custom assets (right?) Why not go a little further and adjust the character stances so they are more realistic / pleasing and could even offer some individuality amongst characters so they don't all seem like they came off a factory line that produces cardboard NPCs. Just my two cents. : )

The dark green lines around the path make it look like it's POPPING out or on top of the grass rather than sitting in the grass.

Yeah I was thinking about a POOF or something. A pose would be fun, but seeing how toggling characters is going to be a big part of gameplay and navigating the maps and dungeons I need the switch to be fluid fast.
@Pizza - finally made the jump out of rm2k. Got a guy who is using something called Godot (i think it's comparable to Unity). It's nice because I can finally focus fully on art and assets while he makes everything work.

My programmer just got the character switching working. Now you can toggle between the party. Each character will have a max of three on field actions they can do.
Dustin the trash can JUMP, RUST(certain shiny objects) and STEELCAST enemies into metal statues you can jump on.
Ratavian can CLIMB ropes and chains etc, GRAPPLE with his little theif rope hook up certain spots, and use GOGGLES to sppt secrets on the map.
You get the picture.
Oh that's supposed to be confetti raining on them when you change characters, I might change or fix that up. I think it would look better with an accompanying sound effect though.
