SAILERIUS'S PROFILE
Something happened to me last night when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go. I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky. It was moving irregularly. Suddenly, there was intense light all around. And when I came to, I was home.

I finished FFXV. I don't think I've ever been so amazed yet disappointed at a game, ever.

Yeah, I haven't played it yet, but it very much sounds like "If you're just in it for the road trip, then you'll like it, but if you want story, you'll be disappointed."
It's the other way around, actually, but I can't really elaborate without spoilers.
I finished the game last week. I don't think a game has ever made me cry as much as this one. I'm sad that it's over. :(
An Important Announcement: A Fresh Coat of Paint.
President Trump
I just got back from lunch and came across an enormous crowd of veterans protesting against fascism. It's really incredible how united everyone in the city is here. After hearing about the huge surge of minorities being gunned down in this country since the election, it's inspiring to see that no amount of terrorism and violence can break hope.
Nintendo Switch; Yes, that's the name
author=kabothIts specs are comparable to a slightly improved Wii U (notice how there's choppy framerate in the trailer for its own games, and even Skyrim). FFVII is being tooled for the PS4. If it were going to come to the NS, it would have to be severely scaled back.
Does this mean that Final Fantasy VII remake will come to the Switch god I hope so...
More likely, I'd expect World of FF and S-E's other Vita titles to be ported to it.
Do you think VR will last?
Given how there are virtually no VR games, and all of the ones that have come out so far have been commercial catastrophes, I don't think VR ever even took off to begin with.
How to deal with lethargy?
Have you heard of the Pomodoro method? It's what I use on my workdays to keep myself productive. The idea is that you work completely uninterrupted for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break, and when the break ends, you work for another 25 minutes.

Degica is publishing a VN engine
Ren'py's other problem is that (due to being Python-based) it has serious performance issues. I was making a game with it a year or so ago and ended up having to ditch it because at 1080p, the game was becoming a slideshow even on my fairly powerful desktop.
Kneeling during the Anthem?
It's a free country. Your right to protest is exactly what so many have fought for. The only people who are really dishonoring that sacrifice are those who want to take that freedom away.
Apathy is not a fucking virtue

What's "worth caring about" is entirely subjective
I don't know, I think there are some things that are objectively worth caring about, like the fact that there are more people in slavery today than at any point in human history.
Is there a language name for RM2K/3 event script?
I'm making it from the ground-up, including (but not limited to) programming it.
You're not, though. If you were making it "from the ground-up," you'd be coding C++ against raw DirectX. The vast majority of the work involved in making your game was already done for you a long time ago. There's nothing wrong with that, but you're kind of devaluing and insulting programmers by acting as if what you're doing is the same thing.
You are just designing the game. Implementing the basic gameplay systems with some kind of scripting interface is a role that, in traditional game development, is usually said to be the designer.
And again, there's nothing wrong with that. It's a necessary role. But it seems to me that you feel insecure about not being a programmer and want to be able to sound like one when talking shop with other programmers. It's not only misrepresenting what you actually do but also disrespectful to others.
