I'm Scalytank, a game developer from Hungary. I'm highly skilled procrastinator. I also try and work on some projects in libgdx when I find my inner strength for them :D I also like rpg and tactical games... (I may create one, in the distant future... or not...)

I still don't understand why you didn't use a 3d engine. These amazing models, and music are kind of... "ruined"...

VX Ace - Unofficial translation of editor and legality

I think there is absolutely no difference between a game created with the original, and a game created with the translated editor. If someone opens that game, they would not find any reference of the "hacked" editor. So unless you start to upload the translated editor itself, use it. No one will care to punish you.

(I even think, that no one can track down a pirated editor from the released game itself, so a translation will be even lower priority... These are seperate things from your released game.)

Too much restrictions. This is useless, for any project, besides "first game" projects. (But I think that the only purpose of this Lite version)

As i remember, you don't need that chest to proceed. I don't know the exact number, but I tried every number between 200 and 300... lol :D it was around 260-280. I tried only 260,262,264 etc, because the formula refers to the number as x2 ^^

I just experienced the same thing. Are you telling me that the author of the game intends for us to watch a ~5 minute dialogue scene to repeat the first battle until, by chance, we survive? That's utterly ridiculous.

Edit: I'm done. Twoshotted again. Max HP 55. 37 damage each turn by the initial zombie, what a joke!

Edit2: This has to be a bug. I edited the zombie to suck and clipped out the initial conversation. After i beat the first zombie I gain levels to go from level 1 straight to level 7. It seems that the game throws me into a new game+ right away.

Patch the game with this... This fixes the first combat (and a few more I think)

Yeah, seriously. The sprites are great but the portrait could be way smoother -- try smoothing out the hair and skin especially. The eyes look good, but some stuff like the eyebrows are really awkward.

I agree with the smoothness... Though I dont know if you can make this any smoother quickly, only if you redraw it. But I can't see any problem with her eyebrows...

But now a screenshot: I am working now on the intro of my game. I made a starfield, and an asteroid, both will be present in the opening cutscene. I would like to get some feedback about the looks and feel (I will add more details later):

That scene was quite different, regarding story, and happenings. But that ambient reminded me of that place... and i really liked that part also :D

Hmm.. I would like to know, if you have played Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines?
I see some influence from that game in the hotel part. Though this is good, because that was my favourite scene in that game :D

I don't think that its so tiny. I think that most people don't care about this that much. And now we also have XP, VX and VX ace... Many people use those engines now, instead of 2k or 2k3.
