SCALYTANK'S PROFILE

Greetings!

I'm Scalytank, a game developer from Hungary. I'm highly skilled procrastinator. I also try and work on some projects in libgdx when I find my inner strength for them :D I also like rpg and tactical games... (I may create one, in the distant future... or not...)

Assembling the Void

I did not gave up on this, and the lag was gone, when more enemies came. (namely when that shooting imp came) But that certain point, with two imps, lags on me. Maybe maker did some stupid thing there...

I will look forward to the update!

(The menu is amazing... This is all evented?)

Assembling the Void

The intro, and visual effects are pretty good, and I especially like the city. It feels alive, opposed to many cities in rpg maker games. One thing bothered me there, the exploration. It is too restricted (maybe necessary for the story hovewer, so not a big problem)...

So I liked the game. Then I reached the part where I had to fight two imps. The combat was not bad, And I am amazed, that one can actually create something like this, in rpg maker 2003.... But... The lag...
The lag is unbearable. I am sure, that the fps IS below 10, as are MANY, and Long lag spikes. Maybe the engine is not up to this task?

Fullscreen VX Ace

Umm. What is the problem with windowed mode, and this script? Works fine for me with VXAce (v1.01a trial mode)

(I think, that not many gpu will do that stretch thing... plus there are options to run the engine in 640*480, you should consider that also.)

Needed script

I think this can be easily done with pictures, conditional branches, and teleport player commands...:) No need for scripts...

Fullscreen VX Ace

Works like a charm.

unless $keybd
$keybd = Win32API.new 'user32.dll', 'keybd_event', , 'v' #Recognizes keyboard
$keybd.call 0xA4, 0, 0, 0
$keybd.call 13, 0, 0, 0
$keybd.call 13, 0, 2, 0
$keybd.call 0xA4, 0, 2, 0
end

Edit: Oh, I see what you mean now... The problem is GPU specific...

Footprints

Even when events are not set to "paralell process", they still have to update their state every frame, draw their "graphics", and on every step, the player will "loop" through all of them, to check which to activate.

I am not sure about the lag with 1000+ events, but you should do some testing on slower machines first.

Is pornography just another job

Obviously pornography is legal currently (in the USA) but there's always parties trying to ban it and other sexually-related professions.

I personally dislike Family Guy, but this thread reminds me of this short scene:

Placing 2500 event would be insane. The teleporting events is the way to go.
