Are we alone in the universe?

I've been practicing. Brevity is wit, or something.

Humans do not have to interact with extraterrestrial lifeforms to be aware that they do exist. With technology progressing as it is today, I wouldn't be surprised if life was discovered on another planet in my own lifetime. Why is it ok to assume that we are alone, and ignore the scope of the universe and the large probablity that there are other complex forms of life? There are billions of galaxies. Each galaxy has billions of stars. If only a small percentage of those stars had earth life planets then there would be many, many planets with life on them.

I do not negate the idea that there are other lifeforms in the infinity of universe, but I do attest to the fact that they will never have any impact on human society.
Eternity is as long a time as the universe is wide. At least.

Dungeons and Dragons [RMN Game Group]

Sorry I didn't make it guys. I was at work until 7:30 and my family came in town just tonight and surprised me about having dinner tonight, so I didn't even get a chance to come home before you were supposed to start.

I'm hearing that term used a lot nowadays. What does it mean when a story is pretentious?
When used correctly, it means it comes off like the writer thinks he's better than you. When used incorrectly, it means it had references to Kabbalah, a bad translation, and a noisy fanbase who thinks it's better than it is.

Generally I don't consider it fair to consider anything pretentious that you can enjoy without wearing a beret and sitting in a coffee shop or college lounge while experiencing.

So the Taliban has split with Al Qaeda and now seeking peace.

Considering the Taliban is the backbone of Al Qaeda, what does this mean for the War on Terror?
Nothing, silly. When you declare war on an abstract concept, the events of the real world no longer have an effect on progress in it.

I don't actually know how far or not far that is. It felt like about 10 hours in which I consider kind of a lot since that's how long most games are.
You're not much of an RPG player, I take it?

Maybe I'm thinking of a different dungeon then. The one with the gardens and cobblestones. It's been years since I've played, but I think I remember it looking nice...

Also, I have to say that Xenosaga's visuals were a downgrade in comparison to Xenogears.

Not graphics wise, but in terms of environments. Xenogears had all sorts of various looks and locales, like the Middle Eastern look of Aveh, the gritty industrialism of Kislev, the beautiful landscape of Shevat, and so on. Xenosaga for the most part has just cold, sterile, and relatively boring space ships and facility corridors. Which is a shame because the large scale cities (that you never really get explore like you should) are nice to look at, and the few natural landscapes you do visit in Xenosaga III are just downright gorgeous.
Song of Nephilim in 1 wasn't bad.

Maybe it's just because I've read the Wheel of Time books, but I didn't have too much trouble following Xenogears' twists and turns. Maybe in part because I could tell characters apart just by looking at them.
