Excellence in Narrative - Pacing
Great feedback, and definitely some good points here. And I actually agree, excessive line breaks can have a serious impact on replayability, especially if you're just trying to skip through the dialogue. I actually noticed that as well in Villnoire. As impactful as the writing was in that game, it did become a slog to skip through the dialogue by mashing a button. There is a way around that, however.
If you can include an option to partially or entirely skip dialogue in cutscenes, it actually goes a long way towards mitigating the grind. You can keep the impact of the first playthrough, while making the game still very replayable. In BSH, for example, you can hold the dash button to completely skip dialogue. When you release the button, dialogue resumes. The problem is making sure players are aware of the mechanic in a non obtrusive way.
However, that's still just a band aid. Truthfully, you're all right. Dialogue is about communicating ideas and concepts, not necessarily about the text itself. If an idea can be communicated with less text in smaller chunks, that is highly preferable to reading a novel.

Nice! Great job, it looks like you put in a lot of work! I'm thinking of reworking the last optional boss, reducing the overall HP, but adding some unique hooks that really cause you to rethink combat for that fight. I'll let you know if that comes out in an update. Even I struggle with finishing that fight on time, so I really shouldn't expect too many others to have mastered it.
Awesome work, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. And thanks again for the review!

Episodes 20 through 23 are available! If I had to guess, there's maybe 5 episodes left in the first playthrough, one for each remaining dungeon, plus one for the last side quest and any unfinished business. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Bloodstained Hands Review
Hey, thanks so much for the review! I always appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
EDIT: Read through the review again now that I've got some more time. It's interesting, I have no frame of reference for how challenging the game mechanics can be, since I've grown accustomed to them as I built them, so I really don't know what the learning curve is like. It's interesting to see how other people manage it.
Also, I'm glad you noticed that the overworld towns actually do represent the town layout! It wasn't a huge detail, but it was something I was proud of, and I don't think anyone else has pointed it out yet, so I appreciate the nod!
And finally, saying that this game is not just a game, but an experience, that's gotta be the best compliment anyone has given me for this game. Thanks so much for the review!

Episode 18 and 19 are available! Episode 20 is uploaded, but is currently unavailable (check back on Monday!), but these two episodes are phenomenal! A major plot point, an epic dungeon, and some wicked boss fights! I can tell that KingKobora has been getting better as well, making excellent use of Overdrives and some of the more advanced game mechanics and strategies. Keep an eye out for the next one!

Episodes 16 and 17 are up! They're short, but good. Next episode is the climax of the story! Or is it? Can't wait to find out!

Wow, great to hear from you again! I was getting worried, it looked like you just vanished for a while. Glad to see you're still around! And I'm really glad to hear that this game was an inspiration to you, that's more than I could have hoped for. Let me know when you put up a game page and I'll definitely subscribe!
Also, yes, old saves are still compatible. There may be one or two bugs initially, but certainly nothing game breaking, and after exploring the new mechanics everything should work as normal. Looking forward to your review!
