I'm going to release an update in the near future that eliminates that restriction. It's actually really simple to fix, not sure why I bothered to set it up the way I did. Just gotta finish testing a few other new systems to make sure they're fully compatible, but it should be available this weekend.

I think it's great that you're in a place where you can start to feel true to yourself, and I respect you having the courage to declare that. Good for you!
I wonder if I could send you a PM with some personal questions, because I'll be honest, I've never fully understood the LGBT community, in many ways because I've never been fully immersed in it, and being a straight white Canadian male, I've never had a proper perspective of what a difference privilege makes. I don't want to spark controversy on a public forum either, which is why I'd rather just PM you instead of fully replying here, but I am genuinely and respectfully curious about some things if you'd be open to conversation.

Ah, I forgot about that. I should have mentioned it in the guide, and I'll update that when I get the chance. So, the side mission "Haunted" can only be accepted when no other repeatable contracts have been accepted. This includes "Plant Hunting," "Assassination," and "Infiltration." Turning in those missions will make this side mission available.
The reason for this lies in how homes are accessed at night. During this side mission, progress can be reset when you enter a home or leave the village. Since homes can be broken into during some of those optional contracts, I disabled access to the side mission while those contracts are active, as there would have been compatibility issues otherwise. Try turning in the contracts first, then come back to access "Haunted."

Just upload the file to your locker and send me a link to it in a PM. You just need the single file labeled "save1" or whichever one is your current save. I'll definitely have to look into this further, not sure what could be going wrong.

You've definitely FINISHED the Test, right? It's only available after the main mission. Other than that, I'm not sure what to say, I haven't been able to find anything just yet. I'll keep digging though, it wouldn't surprise me if I included something for testing that broke the game.
If you want to send me your save file in a PM I can take a closer look after work today to check the values of certain variables.

How to fix thief
I guess it sort of depends on what you consider a "Thief" job. One of the things I liked about FF1 was that the thief was almost the mirror image of the warrior, in that Warriors could eventually learn some white magic spells, whereas thieves eventually became ninjas and could learn black magic spells.
In my own games, I've always considered agility based characters to be the "Jack-of-all-trades" classes. Definitely faster and more evasive than other characters, and using lighter armor and weapons that increase evasiveness and critical rates, but also having a nice balance between attack and magic. Not as strong as a fighter, not as powerful as a mage, but flexible enough to cover both. Especially when the spells they know are focused more on character buffs or status ailments, as opposed to direct damage or restoration.
Stats wise, I consider AGI based characters to be far more useful in ATB games, but in a classic turn based rpg, you could still substitute raw damage for high critical hit chance, and raw defense for evasion, then focus the build of the character around maximizing the usefulness of those traits.
And in regards to stealing... Yeah, I personally hate it. It just adds to the idea of item hoarding if there's an item that can only be stolen and not dropped, and can't be bought from shops. Some games pull it off well (like final Fantasy tactics advance, where you can get high level equipment early on), but ultimately it just feels like a gimmick to me.

Hmm. That's strange. Did you speak to the innkeeper in Diamo? And if you did, when did you speak to her? Was it already night time, or was it during the day? I would suggest try speaking to the Diamo innkeeper during the day, that should activate the quest. I'll release a bug fix later, I think there's a problem with trying to obtain the quest at night.
EDIT: Hmm... looking at the quest, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the eventing. There might be something wrong with the variable that triggers the quest, I may have accidentally reset it at some point without knowing. I'll dig a little deeper. Let me know if you manage to make it work.

RPG Maker Games on Retroid Pocket 2
I've literally been looking for a dedicated handheld gaming console for rpg maker games for years. The touch screen controls I use for joiplay on my phone are not great, and I miss buttons or hit the wrong button all the time. If this works as well as I hope it does, this could be perfect, and it looks relatively affordable. If easyrpg works too, then that includes most rm2k3 games. Honestly, thank you for sharing this, I may actually look into it.
