Game page summary update has been reset to the original summary

I remember when updating the CSS on my game pages, I had to clear the cache in order to see the changes on my desktop browser. The changes were there, but my computer wouldn't show them for some reason. Are you using the same device to check the game page, or something different, like a mobile device? Hopefully it's something as simple as clearing the cache.

How to encourage players to use their items

There's actually a video by a channel called Design Doc on YouTube that talks about item hoarding and how to discourage it. Check it out. Definitely a good resource.

https://youtu.be/HT-Z03YVBPI

As for me, I've found that inventory hoarding can be mitigated if the items are fairly easy to re-obtain. The harder it is to replace a valuable item, the less likely a player is to use it. If a player can craft that item from resources in their inventory or things they can find in the field at any time, they won't be as stingy with them.

Does literally everyone hate me, or am I missing something?

I'm going to speak up a bit here, but this might be long winded. I don't normally do this, but I think it's important. I'm gonna speak openly, honestly, and harshly, because I don't know if anyone ever truly has with you before. I hope you hear my heart in this.

So first off, no, not everyone hates you here. I don't hate you. Honestly, I actually think you're capable of incredible things, and I believe you could have an incredible impact in the people in your life. I believe in you, and genuinely think you are a good person at heart. I do believe, however, that you have displayed tendencies of entitlement and self-righteousness that I have very little tolerance for. Those kinds of tendencies are incredibly self-serving, and (here's the blunt and honest truth) won't get you anywhere in life. Anyone who's told you that you can have anything you want in life without paying a price for it has lied to you. Nothing in life comes free. You want to be respected? A person of influence? An impact player? You gotta work for it. That doesn't come without hard work and sacrifice.

Now, I personally think that you can achieve just about anything you set out to do in life, barring physical limitations and unequal opportunity. But everyone who's ever achieved their goals did so by having complete and total ownership of them. Committing themselves wholly and completely to them. Working for them. They weren't just handed the results because they felt they deserved them.

I think that self-serving tendencies are not necessarily your fault, and I hold no hatred or disdain towards you for having them. I think you're the product of a generation that had no idea what to do with themselves, because we hamstrung it from the get go. Debt is through the roof, cost of living has followed that trend, and now it's all too common to have either separated parents, fatherless homes, or absentee parents who work all day and can't devote their full resources to raising their kids. So what are their influences? Media? School? Government? All entities that promise to take care of you, but lack the power to truly do so. So we have this mindset that things will be provided for us without cost, and the harsh reality is that life doesn't work that way.

I think you have incredible potential. I think you can absolutely have great friendships and relationships, and I'd even be happy to be one of them. But it'll take three things, in my opinion. First, it'll take a humble spirit. Recognizing that maybe the way you were raised isn't actually benefiting your future, and that there are things to learn from people who've gone before you. Second, it'll take a willingness to change, and personally grow. Actually applying the teaching of the people that want to help you. And finally, it'll take hard, honest effort. Swallowing pride, and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you can do that, I think you'll live an incredible life, but if you can't, you'll always fall victim to emotions running your life, and your life will be dictated by others opinions of you. I want you to live well, and be a strong person of character and integrity, but it's up to you whether or not you choose that for yourself.

My goal here is to speak over you in a way that I don't think many people have. I really think we need to believe in people more, love them more, but also hold them to a higher standard. I hope that's what you get out of this. If I've offended you, that's actually not a bad thing. Feel it. Ask yourself why. And ask what you can do about it. I believe in you Kat. I really hope you believe in yourself.

TLDR: No I don't hate you, but I don't tolerate selfish and disrespectful behavior. But I also don't hold it against you.

[RMMV] Need Karen Sprite for Mother's Day Project

Just a thought. Maybe asking for help MORE than one day before the deadline would be a better way of hitting that deadline on time.

Also just a thought. Maybe the reason no one responded wasn't due to lack of activity, but rather a lack of interest? Personally, I would have been happy to help, but after seeing how disrespectfully you responded to other members of the community who were simply seeking perspective on your request, I didn't think it would be worth my time or effort to do something completely for free for someone who I didn't think would appreciate the effort. And clearly, you've displayed that you're capable of solving these issues yourself, so what reason would I have to do it for you?

The devs in this community work hard on their projects. They put in a ton of effort, and when they do ask for help, it's usually with some sort of intent to repay the favor somehow, be it through resources, monetary compensation, or even a review of their works. Nothing comes free.

The Featured Game Thread

Danke! I wonder if we should nominate/vote/dictate the next feature now? There's a lot of classics that have yet to be featured, like Seraphic Blue (although the one hosted here is a translation, and not made by the original creator. Not sure if that's eligible for a feature).

Where is Administration rpgmaker.net ??

One Hour Review

Absolutely! I appreciate it. Thanks again!

One Hour Review

Hey, thanks for the review! I really tried to go for a minimalistic approach for the gameplay, which seems to have accomplished it's goal. Good to get some feedback though, especially on explaining the mechanics. I tried to keep things pretty straightforward, without the need for too much info, but I suppose it wouldn't be difficult to give the player a brief message about how some things work. And I didn't realize how frustrating the vine puzzle could be, since I know how to navigate it. It is a fixed path, it isn't random, so it can be memorized and you won't get stuck by bad RNG, but I definitely will take that feedback into consideration. Glad you enjoyed it!

One Hour

Hey, thanks for playing! And thank you for hiding the spoilers. I'll answer your questions below.

So you got close, but not quite the "true" ending. You're very close though. You got all the correct ingredients, but the only missing step was to open the lockbox. You're absolutely right, the pages do have clues to the code. Basically, the first number in the page is the digit on the lockbox, and the second number is the actual code. So, for example, if a page says 4 - 7, you'd change the fourth number from the left on the lockbox to the number 7. While the antidote will help with survival, it's not strong enough or effective enough to help you survive on its own. Keep in mind, once you enter a digit, it gets saved, so you can go back and forth. You don't have to memorize all the digits at once.

Hopefully that answers your questions. I will also detail how to get each of the games endings below, for anyone who wants to know. I won't detail what happens with each ending, just how to get them.

The first ending requires you to run out the clock.

The second ending happens if you fail to open the lockbox, but you concoct an antidote. The ingredients used don't matter.

The third ending happens if you concoct an antidote and open the lockbox, but if you incorrectly harvested one of the flowers instead of Milk Thistle.

The last and "true" ending requires you to correctly concoct an antidote using Milk Thistle, as well as open the lockbox.

Thanks for playing! Hope this helps.

RPG Auditions Today! Characters Wanted!

I've been slowly reading the articles posted here, and this is still an incredible read. It wasn't until I read this and went back to my game that I found SIX DIFFERENT NPC'S in one town that only talk about how the town is structured. And the thing is, none of it is relevant. It's all information you could figure out by... walking around the town. Wish I'd read this years ago.
