Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
I've been working on a special battle type for Bloodstained Hands for the arena battles. Near the end of the game, after you've beaten the Death Games side quest, if you talk to the orator of the games again, he'll offer a special match, sort of like the Battle Square matches in FFVII. It's a gauntlet of random enemies, one from each game region, but leveled to the party leader, and each enemy gets progressively stronger. The final enemy is one of ten random bosses from somewhere in the game. The fight is solo, however, so it's a lot harder than it normally would be, and there are modifiers that come into play between each round. If you're really unlucky, the monsters can get stronger, or you can be put to sleep, but if you roll double sixes, you'll get an extra party member to help out for the rest of the gauntlet! And the rewards are worth it.

I've been re-working some of the menu scenes in BSH, making them more thematically consistent, etc. I've already done the Mission Log and Monster Log, but I figured I'd get creative. I duplicated the mission log script, cleaned it up, altered some of the functionality, and repurposed it for the in-game guide. Now, instead of simple and cumbersome text windows for the guide, there's a whole separate menu scene that makes it considerably easier to scroll through categories and find what you're looking for. Arguably, the status ailment list is probably the most useful part of the guide, but I'm liking how it looks so far!

Interesting! Hadn't really thought of it from that perspective. I can see why you'd feel that. I have thought about potentially giving the player the option of changing the window style, but they can already change the color and font, so it always felt like a bit too much. Maybe not though? I'll play around with it, see if maybe I can include that in a later update. I always like challenging myself with modifying scripts.
And thanks for all the comments! I appreciate the feedback.

To qualify for my next black belt test, I've committed to 20 hours of Jiu Jitsu this week. I feel like I'm dying.
Lol it was a hard week. Managed to get in all the hours, still didn't get the belt though. It's a high rank, so it's fair. I can test again in 10 more weeks, so I've got time to prepare before then.

Ha ha, yeah, I've gotten feedback about the sprites before. Haven't seen an enormous amount of side view battlers that I felt fit with this game. Nowadays there's more available, but it just wouldn't feel right to change them now. Same with the encounters, if I could make this game over from the start I'd probably go with something other than random encounters.
Curious what you mean about the menu and inventory screens though. Is there something that could be done to benefit them? Or is it just that je ne sais quoi?

What technology do you hope will be invented before you die.
Solar freaking roadways, if anyone remembers those. Canadian, don't like winter driving. Plus all the other cool benefits.

There is a story mission guide that you can access from the directory on this game page, and the solution to that dungeon is listed under the category "Vengeance." Try referring to that, but if that still doesn't help then let me know more specifically what you're struggling with and I'll see what I can do to help. Thanks for playing!

In the gaming community, this is termed "power leveling."
Does anyone personally know someone (that they didn't meet online) who has played their game?
I have literally jumped through hoops to burn my game onto a CD (if anyone remembers what those are) just because a friend of mine said he'd play it if he had a physical copy. He still didn't play it. To this day, I don't actually personally know even one person who has played any of my games.
RMN is the biggest audience I've ever had for that. So thanks guys.
