Looking for a Programmer for a Psychological/Ambiance RPG

Do you know what kind of scripts you're going to need or are you just looking to cover the programmer position for anything that comes up?

Picturing how would be an RMN Convention in real life...

Sounds like a hoot. If a physical meetup is too hard to do because of distance you could always just make a video skype call and invite everyone you want to talk to.

Just make sure you have a schedule and topics to talk about so it doesn't turn into a cacophony of shouts or just live stream the conversation and invite only the people that are going to be asked questions.

Or just make a thread with the title "I want to talk to..." and let people ask and say they're willing to talk to people who want to know them. I know it's not a convention, but in the end we go to those mostly to see specific things or hear specific people talk. That way if someone really wants to talk to a certain member about being part of the Run Time Package monarchy or just maybe ask what the inspiration for a game was they can do so without the crippling anxiety of sending a PM to a stranger.

How badly could you fuck up the world in your current position in life?

I've no position of great power or access to anything lethal, but I did managed to think of a few things.

- I have access to as many as 13 mattresses at any moment. Most of you are surely aware of the kind of power that is, but for the uninitiated it means I could snap and start ripping off mattress tags and destroying lives.

- Submit a bunch of short function scripts to RMN in order to boost my makerscore and increase my locker size in order to run an illegal automated file sharing service.

- Keep a telemarketer on the phone forever. (They can't hang up on you.)

- Post a too good to be true script that crashes your computer by opening the RGSS
player over and over again or just plain starts deleting files off your computer. (Don't use eval loosely kids!)

- Go to the laundry room and start taking out all the laundry from the washing machines.

- Catfish the admin of a forum by pretending to be a young vulnerable woman with red hair that identifies as her favorite anime character Lina Inverse. Who needs help learning programming, but somehow grasps complex programming concepts way too quickly and starts releasing all the cool scripts everyone wants and is dear and near to everyone and no one really questions it. Except that one girl who warned everyone and seemed cold and cruel to the new girl until it's too late and they realize it's a man and stop posting all together from the shame and the forum is destroyed and converted into one of those ad sites for a waffle and sausage B&B named "The Red Herring". And in the darkness that bitter girl who warned everyone smiles... "Yes, in the ashes fools won't sing."

Oh god damnit, now I see what it is. TDS's script marshals the $game_temp instance as a quick and easy means of doing a deep copy on it for purposes of restoring the player's status. Yanfly's battle engine for some reason puts a reference to the iconset in the same $game_temp instance and bitmaps don't have a means to be marshaled.


First, thank you very much for all the help you've provided. You seem to understand the problem much better than myself so I just let it up to you and kept reading in case there was something I could do to help, also I doubt I could have been as helpful as you have been.

As for the problem of bitmaps and dumping them, if the dumping into game_temp is vital to the other script then this little snippet of code should allow the bitmap class to be dumped without need to change any other script.

Retry Battle

Umm..., I'm sorry to bother you, but every time I try to retry a battle, an error message pops up saying 'Disposed window.' Can you help me fix this? I'm using scripts, if that's any help...

It's no bother, just let me know which window is the one with the dispose error and if you're using any other scripts which affect the Scene_Battle or Window classes in any way and I'll see what I can do to help you.

Followers Control

I have troubles using this script. I have event set up like this:

However it shows wrong icon, for wrong event. It works like I'd put:

Instead of showing exclamation on 3rd follower, then showing tear for 4th follower, it shows tear for 3rd follower. My party has four members at that point of game.

I even tried to put little wait between the two because who knows, maybe it needs a frame or two to "update", so it now looks like this:

but it had no effect. I suspect a bug in the script.


I'm not quite sure what the problem is from your example, but the followers index begins from 0 not 1. The first follower is 0, second is 1, third is 2 and so on.

I also tested the script to see if there were any bugs and it all seems to work fine, so if the problem is not index related or caused by another script then you are going to have to explain your problem more clearly if you want me to be able to help you.

If you're an angry person, then dealing with the abuse and injustice against women is clearly not for you. These people who perpetuate this kind of behavior do so because of deep rooted issues that are not going to simply change because you yell at them on the internet.

Instead of just being angry in the internet do your part and treat women with respect and equality and show those around you to do it too. There is really little else you can do against someone hiding behind a screen, but you can do a lot more in your personal life to make up for it.

Final Fantasy XIV and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I thought I would be playing Bravely Default, but that's only for Europe at the moment.
