Getting 17 notices today, I was anticipating the official release of Super RMN World... But instead I got someone who spammed the heck out of one of my game pages. :/

ENLARGE YOUR GAME WITH THIS SUPER SECRET SCRIPT OTHER SCRIPTERS DON'T WANT YOU KNOWING ABOUT!!!1!

#==============================================================================
# ** Sprite_Character
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# This sprite is used to display characters. It observes an instance of the
# Game_Character class and automatically changes sprite state.
#==============================================================================

class Sprite_Character < Sprite_Base
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Alias Listing
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  alias tds_enlarge_your_game_today_initialize                     initialize
  #--------------------------------------------------------------------------
  # * Object Initialization
  #     character : Game_Character

  def initialize(*args, &block)
    # Run Original Method
    tds_enlarge_your_game_today_initialize(*args, &block)
    self.zoom_x = self.zoom_y = 3.0
  end
end

On a serious note, sorry to hear that. The notice tab is a cruel and mysterious mistress.

And what was the spam for?

I've had my work personally stolen before, and when I pointed it out publically, I got as many downloads in a week as I'd had in the previous three months.

I got my work stolen and when I pointed it out I just got a bunch of death threats and was accused of stealing my own work and to this day there are people who still send me daily death threats and insults because of that other guy. Hell, some people will not even look at my work and just brush it off as me stealing it from someone else because of one moron who stole a script and tried to pass it off as his own.

That's the lovely "indie community" you seem so fond of and want to see grow.

I'm actually morally against making your scripts unusable by other people. You're valuing your own reputation more than the improvement of the indie game community. If you can make other people's games better by doing nothing, you absolutely should, and you're a horrible human being for suggesting otherwise.

I'm morally and spiritually against artists not drawing my characters for me. Red head bikini island super mysteries is not going to finish itself you selfish artists!

But yeah, the indie community can go and collectively suck it if they think they can have everything they want and they have to get it without doing the work themselves.

Move Event with Player

Combining "<Move_With_Player>" with the other tags in a comment should work.

Like so:

<Move_With_Player>
<Mimic_Player_Movement>

But if that doesn't work I have to know if you are you using any custom scripts that might interfere with it or make sure the comments are in the page that is active for the event. Test the script in a new project to see if the problem persists and I'll look more into it.

It's weird/shitty how trends have changed so radically. It's like they won't make new games unless every fan calls in to sign up and give them money first.

It's the equivalent of "1000 likes for the next episode" for them. Although it is a good strategy to measure your audience for potential profit and budgeting, it seems Capcom just wants people to talk about them as long as possible and once people stop showing hype they interpret it as a sign that there is no interest and then they drop it and blame the fans for not staying at super hype levels throughout the whole development process.

hey check out what I found in the mail

yeah, that's part of it. the way youtube's recommendedations and so on work buoys him up in other ways, but suffice it to say that it's the fluke of flukes and people trying to mimic him to capture some of that popularity is one of the most tragic trends in content creation.

from a sociological standpoint, it's been argued (and I personally agree) that the appeal of pewdiepie and similar let's players (similar in general delivery and demeanour, though not necessarily derivatives) is that they depict and sell the idea of a consequence-free lifestyle. the face in the corner of the screen shrieks rape jokes for ten minutes, and not once does his mom or dad come into the room and tell him to quiet down. this appeals to children and young adults in kind, simply because children long for independence from authority and adults long for the effortless simplicity of a life spent playing video games that the lifestyle of a professional content creator purports to offer. the games and humour are commonly touted, but they're not the actual draw -- instead, the appeal is being able to live vicariously through the man onscreen for ten or twenty minutes at once, and temporarily lose oneself in the illusion that one day, this is what their lives will be like. it's a lotus to eat, and a very effective one at quieting the fears of our generation.

Yeah or you know, this.

Review Exchange!

I just released a short simple game and I'm interested in doing a review exchange for a similar type of game in terms of length.

This is the game. It's a simple puzzle RPG game.
