Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Thrall Review

author=Strak
Wow, thanks so much for the review! I really appreciate the detailed look at a lot of the mechanics, and the feedback you've given.

I'll definitely consider adding an option to discard equipment from the menu, although once shops become available it probably won't be used as much. Still, could be a handy feature to have.

Oh yeah I did not consider shops. Anyway in the beginning with the reduced inventory it is a good idea to keep only the best items.

author=Strak
As for the prologue, yeah I should include an option to skip it, but the problem then is both jumping player levels up to level 3, as well as providing equipment for them so they can jump right into the first boss fight and dungeon. Haven't figured out how I want to do that yet. Unfortunately, saving isn't a great option right now, due to the unusual nature of this particular save system. I may be able to find a way around that, however.

Maybe made a pre-made setup? With heroes already decently equipped and levelled, with the warning that you can actually "do better" playing the prologue?

author=Strak
And aww, I was really hoping I'd avoided the "damage sponge" boss with some unique gimmicks, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to reduce its HP bit.

Well first one is not too bad, its the second that has many phases but its ok. A LOT depends on the equipment you possess.

Quondam Warriors Review

Loowiz, for editing your game you can do it even if your game was encrypted. This decryptor for example is really easy to use (it's in exglish, you just have to make it extract all files if your game is encrypted, and it can also create the edit file.

I admit that at the time of the review I was tempted to find a way to fix that part, but sadly my making knowledge is limited to Rm2k/Rm2k3... sigh!

Quondam Warriors Review

Thank you very much for playing my game, and giving it a very detailed and thoughtful review!

I understand that there are still some bugs that need to be fixed, especially one that has hunted me for almost 10 years (a single spot in the first forest map maze, where you can clip through a wall), but unfortunately, the RPG Maker game edit file is long gone.

Hello! Well it was a nice adventure...

As for the part where you were stuck, that was my bad for not being clear on telling the player where to go (as Egoraptor said, that's conveyance), you're supposed to go back to the city and talk to a NPC, in order to get the ticket. You've completed two of the six chapters of the game, so there's still a lot of gameplay left (It takes about 5-6 hours to beat the game).

I know, the problem is, as I wrote apparently no way to go back to the village, since one exit does not work and the other leads to a woman that asks for a ticket and I found no place that sells them.

Basically when you arrive at the pyramid you are stuck there with no way to go back (the access is "one way", as the map as only one exits that leads to the woman that asks for a ticket) to the village not even to restock, so I could not buy the ticket and go on with a story, and that's a pity.

I dunno if the new download fixes this issue, otherwise the party is stuck at the pyramid.

The mana system isn't used by the characters you've unlocked so far. I'll leave it at that.

Yes, I expected this but I wasn't sure of course!

I'm guessing this word is meant to be questions.

Heh probably! Or maybe it was "answers", dunno. Thanks I will fix it!

When Death Wills - Underworld Accountant Agency Review

nice nice, anyway it was easy even if I'm totally inept at accounting (BUT I had some uhm... exposition)- I wonder how things would go next so yeah. I'm curious!

Lobby Loitering Review

Well I liked that and I admit in the beginning I expected the adventure to be far shorter, but it was a pleasant surprise to be proved wrong! I mean all hotels are cool anyway my only problem is that, how I wrote, there are many questions... (who's the red hooded boy? Who was the blondie in the motel with the garden? What happened to Cube-head, Orca and the bums?) ok it's clesr that leaving the stories incomplete is part of the game (since it's about meeting people, each one living his/her own life), but in the beginning I expected some sort of final explanation or series of epilogues for each one.
Buuut neeeevermind, this was a cool game!

Psychostasis Review

Ehehehe yes, I like these games, I mean, rpgmaker isn't just about rpgs- and in this case not even about horror, since it's rather mild in terms of horror, and it's more like mystery... but the thing that most impressed me was the randomization of the appearance of the killer!
that was really a cool aspect!

*...looking at his notes...*Wait, there was no DARRIEN party member that I remember in the first game!
Darrien is the old Adrian. I didn’t want to have two party members sharing the same initial.

Yeah. Understandable, I always do that when naming characters (WHEN they give us the chance to name characters at all! LOL) also checking the other party members' names!

Crimson Sky Review

author=Mitsuhide_The_Vagrant
Whoa, what!? A review of Crimson Sky!? Wow, I did not expect that. lol

Thank you for the review! I doubt I'll ever pull this game back from the trenches, but your kind (and constructive) words are appreciated and certainly give good insight on how I can do better!

Yes, Tross was going to be a party member later on down the line. The story wasn't completely fleshed out, but something was going to happen to cause him to leave the Zervan empire (being framed as a traitor, or something like that) and join Haos' crew. Also, Bernard, Haos' subordinate who "joins" you in the intro sequence, is just an NPC along for the ride, which is why he never fights with you. He was eventually going to be a recurring character, which is why he was given a little more attention than other NPC's, but alas...

Anyway, thanks again for the review! I never expected anyone to play this, let alone write a review, 15 years later!

Yeah I'm a sucker for old Rmk/Rm2k3 games and I especially LOVE those who use edits and custom made animations. Don't care if they're not complete as long as they provide more than 30 minutes of gameplay.
Oh-ho Tross looked like a classic rival and I assumed he was going to be the enemy of a boss battle, but the naming gave out his role as a party member.

Oracle of Askigaga Review

Well, this is a surprise. Thanks for giving this old game a go!

The evolve mechanic goes through Common Events, so, even if I did allow the healing skill to be used out of combat, using it would tend to bring players to the map screen. I probably learned this while making Okiku, Star Apprentice, as this game borrows the evolving skill mechanic from that game. Anyway, it was either allow the awkwardness of being sent to the map screen after using the healing spell, set it up so that only the final evolution of the skill could be used out-of-combat (those don't call a Common Events), or make then consistent with the other skills, and just allow them in combat only.

Yay that was a cool idea. I liked that even if couple of skills more would have made the game cooler anyway for a short entry (not that was too short! It was ok) that was not bad at all. Probably the most memorable aspect for me.
