1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.

No I agree. For a starting game back in the day it is very...well...it's a game. I guess.
Don't worry because I'm making a super version of it that's a heck of a lot better so far!

Thanks for the reply! I only had one little issue: after the battle in the canyon against the two followers of the princess the game froze. Or better, I could still move Gary, but he was trapped surrounded the other characters.
I had to reload the previous save, repeated the battle against the two and the cutscene played as intended. Weird thing!
Anyway is someone else has this problem, just try it again and it should work.

Funny thing, I didn't realize what kind of place Stella was in until way after I finished the game. For the entire development I had it in mind just like "social situation you really want to get out of", but now that I've thought more about it, I know what it is: a meeting at a conservatory! There's a lot more stuff behind the characters and setting that I didn't put in the game, but I have plans of revisiting it someday in the future in another project. Hopefully it will all make a lot more sense.
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!! As long as it was able to give you a relaxing time, it's all I could ask for! :'D
Yep, it was cool and of the right length. But the art style was my favourite part of the game.

I agree that the story ended up quite confusing. It's meant to be like a hint puzzle, but even then it's still barely explained (mostly I didn't want to overload the text with a lot of explanations being such a short game). Aside from practicing atmosphere design and mapping, it ended up being a storytelling practice too. I have a long way to learn to tell stories with the environment and subtle hints, but I'm glad it was still enjoyable!! I'm especially glad you liked the maps!

The Stairway Review

I don't know. I managed to beat the game in under 30 minutes. So I imagine most people can beat this game in less than one hour.
Well actually it took me less than an hour but sometimes figuring out what to do and what was interactable wasnt always immediate like for the last two puzzles that require some walking around. Second time I played took me 20/25 mins since I knew what to do.
AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem did a Blind Let's Play Playthrough that took 51 minutes and 58 seconds, so... it's more or less my playtime of 50 minutes.

I’m glad to see the game got updated, I had a lot of fun playing through it and was lucky that I did the cat sidequest and avoided all of the missing transfers due to that. Maybe now with the game being fixed I should get back to it and beat it (I stopped playing at the Ice Queen because she’s too strong for a level 21 party, gotta get back to grinding it seems)
I was able to beat the Ice Queen at level 21, and also the enemy that I found later that is able to hit (and kill) up to two party members out of three. The secret was using the Lyre of Resurrection since only Firion (at lvl 21) was able to survive the Crystal Queel Fury attack, so keeping him at fill health and resurrecting the others between attacks was the key. Same for the next boss battle (with the difference that with its double attacks not always was Firion the one that survived). Unfortunately now I'm stuck at the boss in the haunted mansion... time to grindddd!

finally someone translated but for some reason the game has an error in chapter 2, and it's very annoying, because the image turns black, but the character is still there, is the game really like that?
