Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

I Expect You To Die Review

Whoa, a blast from the past here. Thanks for the fun review! ...which I think takes longer to read than to play the game :)

The biggest challenge of this game is the dodgy hit mechanics of RM2k3 imho.

Heh I admit it took me four tries to finish it: first time I failed the number maze, the second I was not able to pass the penultimate cave with the boulders, and the third I was caught by Mr Bournd! So it was *NOT* that short!

THE FROZEN WORLD

Ah one of the best and most original games by Lysander! Happy to see it featured! Anyway I took some screenshots for my review, if someone wants to check ;)

Oh right, stats. Shit!

Here we goooo! So long, and thanks for all the stats!

Awesome, it's fun to see a new review on RMN several years after the game was released.

Yeah, and I never heard of this game until last week, when I noticed that this was highlighted due to high score...so I tried it, and wow the previous reviewers were totally right about that!

Thanks for the review, Addict. I'm happy every time I get one from you. Thanks for letting me know you liked this lil game of mine. The fact that the cards only differ in small details was actually intentional, so you have a proper challenge while playing. However, I see from your screenshot that you have the old version of the game. The new version has the cards updated to have more appealing backgrounds. Maybe you want to check it out. Anyway, thanks again for the review, I appreciate it. :)

Oooooh yeah! So there are cooler cards in the new version? Nice, well done!

Hey, thanks for the stellar analysis! You should know, I just updated the download file so you should actually be able to finish the game now.
Cool. To tell the truth I already finished the online version. So I played it twice, but did you change the ending fixing the final building of just used the same ending of the online version? I am curious
All versions have been updated with the new ending so the stuff inside the house actually works now.

Awesome! Time to replay this then!

Thanks a lot for the review! I did originally plan to put NPCs in the city you could talk to, but the IGMC deadline forced me to scrap a lot of my initial plans. This and other things (like the combat balance and the lack of healing options) I plan to adress with a slightly revised version after the contest is over.

Yeah, I guessed that! Anyway I was able to finish it even if I had to manage wisely the resources. Just adding some consumables (like the ones you start with) at the shop would improve a lot the game, anyway it's pretty good as it is. Well, I hope for a sequel too!

Life - A - Live Review

Thank you for playing the game. I will have to apologize for the dropped score due to its incredibly minute gameplay. I was going to add a lot of other effects/gameplay gimmicks and challenges here and there but decided against it due to not just time constraints but also a lack of proper testing on any powerup effects and the like. Also I didn't want to make it too difficult to turn off casual players. That being said, your feedback might be considered if a sequel will be made for this.

It is unfortunate that it ended up with 3.5 stars as opposed to 4 but considering your feedback, its to be expected. I'll try better next time.

Do not worry, visually is pretty good and also the story despite being pretty short and linear with no exploration or choices of any kind. Basically it's a good idea, anyway I'd have liked at least a difficulty selector (that maybe just changes the speed and/or damage received/done) for "combat", the pictures on the battle screen in fact made me think that there was something more, but nope.
Not bad, i mean it's surely a game better than most others (3/5), considered it also was made for the contest in a short time with custom graphics, but it just lacks of just a bit of that *special something* to make it a classic (4/5) so I settled for the middle score. Anyway still better than others for sure.

Super Princess Daphne Review

Whoa a review! Thanks man! Didn't check here for a long time, would've responded if I'd known someone reviewed my game!

Pretty fair review, it's what I would've gave it. I didn't work that hard on it, it was a practice project, so that's why it is so bare bones and simplistic. It was just for the sake of actually completing a game. Gonna do a sequel which would be more inspired by Zelda 2 and metroid, with more abilities, boss battles and such.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

Good, very good! Well the basis aren't bad, indeed it's a bit difficult due to the limits of melee attack and absence of special attacks/options (while opponents have a wider rande of attack possibilities, from shooting to throwing bombs). There is space for improvement so adding moar is surely the right thing to do!
