1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana
*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Dreamaria Review
author=Healy
Thanks for the kind words! I've been away from the site (and gamemak) for a while, but it's nice to to see that someone enjoys one of my old games. I keep meaning to come back to Dreamaria, but I would probably have to tighten up some of the worldbuilding if I wanted to get serious about it, which is probably why I haven't gotten around to it yet, haha.
Again, thanks for the review, and take care!
Helloooo! As I wrote this was one of the first game I played here and surely the first that introduced me to the nice white screw shop graphics. And also one of the first games I played that did not include combat (excluding horror games, but these had chase sections instead) so at the time it was a really nice experience for me.
And I liked that, despite the demo status of the game!

Sign me up. Yep this is crazy.
I'll probably make something awful but better than nothing I guess...

I got thrown into a world that looks exactly the same as mine but there's nobody around anymore, trying to figure out what to do
The color dissonance between Birch's hair color in the faceset and in the charset annoys me to no end >_<' . Lol sorry.

Thank you very much for reviewing my game and giving it 4 stars! As promised, the hitmen will return your family by sunrise tommorow.
Okkkkkk! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Like in Midnight Resistance final level!

but on a more serious note thanks for pointing out what you think does and doesn't work. It's all stuff I'm taking to heart so that my next steaming pile of rpgmaker is that much better for it.
Oh well anyway I admit that sometimes I should for example take my time to talk with people... the hint guy is pretty useful (well it would have been for finding that rope ladder kit earlier!) but I ignored him until the end! Loool! I wasn't also a fun of the boat maze but it's not really important to complete the game so it's ok. 4 is good because it's a good game, I mean even if you take away all the wackyness and silly things I liked like hunting Shrek or fighting Dio Brando, it's still and enjoyable game with solid mechanics (even if I skipped lots of battles since there is no Exp nor you need much gold due to the absence of gear...something I did not mind).
well done, looking forsward the next one!

!I'm the first half so dun judge me
Even I had some issues trying to find the optimal solution on the last challenge so the last challenge's difficulty was definitely good.
Crazybabi probably knows what I'm trying to do initially for later stages, but given how addict(and many players) had some issues starting from the third. It was honestly wise to diverge the difficulty to prevent lengthy game overs like the inspired game's weakness mentioned by addict. (Yes, the game's original idea was heavily inspired by the game addict mentioned!)
Uhm did I mention Dark Souls? LOL
Heh jokes aside it's ok, I mean, no I had issue from the tutorial, I did it three times because I wanted to get the BEST result. All or nothing! Second battle was replayed only once... but the worst experience was the one against Florrend because I won, played until the battle in the dark woods and died.
And I FORGOT TO SAVE so I had to restart facing Florrend again! Waaaarghhhh!
Sigh

And of course, thank you so much for playing and thank you for the amazingly detailed review, addict!
Oh well it was a cool idea indeed! Unexpected!

The graphics are indeed the XP RTP, with some conversion of the auto tiles. Except for the tree canopies, which are from REFMAP.
Nice! Even if admit not my favourite, but I like the final result. I also liked the font used!

Thank you for the amazing review!
I'm glad you liked the game and so sorry for the teleportation bug issue. ^^"
Also about the house in the woods:It's actually an optional cleanup minigame with an ending/free equip once you completed all the required quest in the guild and visit the guild's 2nd floor.
oook! Because if you visit before it says something about cleaning but actually it's not possible to do anything. Heh I will try this now then! ^_^ (since I suck at riddles and puzzles lol).
Oh and the first time I also TOTALLY MISSED the guy that sells skils, BUT I was able to defeat the final boss just with a totally useless Teishi (aka: 0 points of damage with each attack!) and friends. It's really true, the Power of Friendship is the best power!

Yay this was in fact really a surprised. I expected a comedy game, or a classic rpg... or a comedy classic rpg. But nooo it was much moar, kudos to this!

I really need to finish this game but I agree with all this! The most surprising thing about this game is how solid the battle system is.
Can’t wait for hotgamerdad’s next game, Our Barren Earth!
Oh don't worry the game and also the final parts aren't really difficult, and that's a good thing since I like having fun without having to sweat in every combat encounter or fearing I did not level enough!
I admit I did not explored 100% of it so I may have missed something. Anyway it's fun, I'm only sad that Zeppeli is a temporary companion because I enjoyed a lot using him. He has the best attack powers and system pity he's playable in few encounters only.
Yay, looking forward the next game!

Thanks for playing, and leaving a review!
That wall you could climb. Was it near the Heal Glyph? When I initially playtested coel's first half, I could not figure out why it was there when it didn't seem possible to reach it. I then modified the map so that I could get to it. If the wall by the branch is climbable, it did not occur to me to try climbing it!
Yeah yeah, that one. Well not bad just odd since I expected that was an example of "secret passage" similar to others in other maps but I guess it's the only one. Nevermind!

There was a feeling, a possibility, of this game evolving into a survivor-craft. So, like, having players deal with the curse, while collecting resources to either build a boat to get off the island, make shelter, craft more/better equipment, etc. However, that's a gameplay loop I'm not particularly interested in.
Nah it's fine as it is. I mean _I saw no necessity of those additions just one thing... yeah what you wrote below!
author=Marrend
Though, you have a point about the ending being rather abrupt. It kinda ties in to not wanting to prolong the game with grinding for resources to build (or rebuild?) a boat, but, I might not have considered writing a cut-scene to bring things to an end than, well, just cutting it off at the defeat of the kracken. XD
Uhm, I expected something like finding that the treasure is a huge golden ship or something like that. Or maybe Cedric's relatives to the rescue. Well that's it! lol
