Quick Update to Wedge

author=janussenpre
Crazy combo. Its music to my ears.

+200 MP regen per turn sounds pretty damn great.

The drawback is that there isn't a way for the other characters to restore MP (besides Vicks with Refresh and Lyra with her Absorb spell) without the use of items, and you'll be spending a ton of MP with that party.

But yeah, it's a powerful team against enemies vulnerable to magical attacks.

Quick Update to Wedge

If Vicks, Wedge, Dajh, and Lyra are in the battle party and all are equipped with certain Paradigms...

- You get a Vicks with a passive Protect and Refresh status that cannot be removed.
- You get a Wedge with a passive Bubble and Faith status that cannot be removed.
- You get a Lyra with a passive Regen and Bravery status that cannot be removed.
- You get a Dajh with a passive Haste and Shell status that cannot be removed.

So yeah, useful quartet!

EDIT: MP is still capped at 999.

What status boost is Wedge under? Focus?

Faith (Magic Power increased by 30%). Haven't done a new icon for that one yet.

A slay a day keeps them hoes away!

Does this Zantetsuken have a chance to K.O. enemy targets?

100% chance to inflict Death, unless immune to Instant Death effects, of course.

The Skyrim reference was so minor that I forget it, so yeah. The Mario guy is just a recoloured bearded shopkeep who wears blue and red, really. He doesn't even have dialogue, just a shop window.

I don't think it hurts anything, really. Video games have always parodied pop culture to some extent. Final Fantasy has always parodied pop culture, so it's not too unusual that I'd do the same. Plus 99% of them will probably be vague and just look like normal lines of dialogue to most people. Two examples:

Zephyr: "Markim, what's it gonna do?"
Markim: "Zephyr, it's hard to say. It's malfunctioning, it may not do anything."

Hautley: "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!"

Anyway, there were countless references and such in the first game as well that even the LPers didn't even seem to notice. I know how to handle them without them being tacky.

As long as they're so minor that only eagle-eyed players will notice them, then I think they're fine (like that anime robot in the background of the Gold Saucer in FF7).

Well, I do have goofy little secrets littered throughout the game so far. The most obvious one is the Terra/Arvis' house in Crescent Village. There's an EXTREMELY well hidden dialogue string that references a stand-up routine by Louis C.K. word for word, and I doubt anyone will ever find it. It's just kind of there for my own amusement. I also have a Skyrim reference in the game somewhere, but I can't remember where or what it was.

Edit: Oh yeah, there's also an NPC who is dressed VERY similarly to Mario.

Oof, these sort of inter-brand "easter eggs" hurt the integrity of fan-games, if you ask me. Just makes it seem like less of a serious project and more of a young gamer's wet dream, you know what I mean? Hopefully, the Skyrim reference isn't that awful "arrow to the knee" crap and I'm hoping the guy who looks like Mario doesn't act like him, talk like him, or in any way other than appearance, remind players of him. At least they're not playable characters.

THEY'RE NOT, RIGHT?

Magic Damage Recalculated Redux

author=Vanille
I hope so that would be awesome.

What are you referring to?

Magic Damage Recalculated Redux

It doesn't grow because most enemies in the game have between 50-70 Speed (some select ones have higher Speeds later on). Keeps the ATB charge rates in check. None of the Aeons have a Speed bonus on Level Up anymore, but it can be raised via the Dead Pepper item (there will be a way to get them at your leisure, probably via Coliseum).

Magic Damage Recalculated Redux

That changed long, long ago. :D

Speed doesn't raise with levels, still.

Can you tell us a bit more about stat growth and stat cap?

Like what? All characters have different stat growth, and it caps at 255 per stat.

but what happens when fighting undead?

Holy Circle bypasses Drain protection, as stated.

Are the three symbols representing Fire, Ice, and Lightning elements? It's a pretty animation BTW.

Just part of the ripped image from FF4PSP. I may edit it.
