World of Warcraft

A lot of folks from RMN play on Lothar A(lliance). A group of us actually started brand new toons yesterday and played for about 13 hours straight and got to lv18. I'll upload a GROUP PHOTO I took when I get home.

Is anyone else interested in playing?

Here's hoping they show up in the US!

To clarify, the screens shown are from DQ4. It looks pretty much like the PSX version, which is good news to me. Wonder what DQV and DQVI will be looking like.

Marketing Images

The site's branding is going to become solely "RMN". This will be reflected in other sized banners in the future. In the meantime, use this banner.

TomT64's Aug 4th Compo

This'll probably be the last news post that will get a forum topic, since the new ones will have comments.

So as the frontpage says, compo. I've participated in a couple and I have to see they are a riot. If you're a fan of OneHours and such, compos are even better. They really motivate you to get as much done in a short span of time.

Any of you guys want to organize some teams?

Site Update 07/20/07

See the front page for more details. Finally you guys can rename and change the status for your games.

As a notice, if you edit your game a screenshot or download, it WILL be placed back in the approval queue.

IGL: ika game library

Over the past little =( two weeks or so, I've been working on a library to help out with making ika games. It's based somewhat off of RMXP's own codebase, but modified in ways I felt superior and more Pythonic.

Now just the library is cool, but I've also constructed a database editor to be used with it. Unlike RM's database editor, however, this one is customizable. Based on some simple values placed inside your game's codebase, the editor will generate pages and controls to help you edit it. Right now it's pretty basic, but I am going to be working on some improved controls, such as selecting images.

This is a screenshot of the current DB editor:

Currently, audio, input, process (scene) control and windowing modules are working in-game. These are the basic blocks to build pretty much any part of the game. The next big challenge is to make a default battle system to go with it.

Favorite Game Shown at E3 07

So what was YOUR favorite game shown? I'd have to say mine was Metroid Prime 3. Just seeing it actually up and running and nearly finished made me skip a few beats.

Runner up is Super Mario Galaxy. Bee Mario is the bomb!
