I made this site and it's awesome. But I don't run it anymore. Now I'm just a plebe like you.

Surprise! New NIN album
Nine Inch Nails surprises with a new 36 track album out of nowhere called "Ghosts". Unfortunately, their site is getting absolutely hammered right now.
I am planning on getting the Deluxe Edition. Is anyone else a NIN fan?

So I bought a copy of Suikoden V
I stopped at GameCrazy on my way home from work as I've been on the lookout for a copy of Suikoden V. As I'm waiting to be helped, I notice they have Skies of Arcadia Legends for the GameCube. Score.
I'm helped and the guy looks up Suikoden on the computer and says they have a new copy, actually. So he gets it from behind the desk and gives it to me. I immediately notice it is not factory sealed. Whatever. I pay for it and get out of there.
Last night at 11 PM I figure I'd try some of it out. I open it up. There is NO game manual or any papers inside of it.
There is also no game DVD, but a blank CDR. I am going back there today at lunch and am going to raise hell.

Devil May Cry 4 Demo
I've never played a Devil May Cry game, but I've just found out that DMC4 has a demo out on XBox Live today.
Who's looking forward to this game? I'm gonna check out the demo and see what I think.

Final Fantasy IV (DS)
A new trailer for the game was released today. It is absolutely breathtaking.

Yes there are some spoilers, but nothing new if you've never played the original.

RMN Resource Section Details/Help/Request FAQ - If you don't read this, you'll probably be banned.
Help and Request Forum Rules
When asking for help related to software (RPG Maker, Photoshop or otherwise):
1) Firstly, make sure to GIVE US THE NAME of the software. 'RPG Maker' is not specific enough, as that consists of about a dozen pieces of software. Without knowing this, we cannot help you, so by following this step you'll get help much faster.
2) Give us a description of what you're trying to do, and list the ways you've tried to get it working/fix it. You'll solve the problem faster. If you haven't tried fixing it on your own, I suggest doing that first so when you post here you don't look like an idiot when the solution is incredibly obvious.
3) In the case of event editing, code, or whatever, providing a screenshot or a copy+paste of that code will be helpful in getting a quicker resolution to your problem.
4) This one is important. Employ proper spelling and grammar. You don't have to be perfect, but if your posts look like "hey gyz im newcan someone plz hellp me wit thischipset", please clean it up. This is one of the quickest ways for someone to bypass your post.
When requesting for someone's help:
1) Be specific in your request, and give examples where relevant. If it's a request for a resource, give a brief description of what you're looking for and be patient. Do not rape the topic by bumping it incessantly.
2) If you're hiring for a project, you'll need to be much more thorough. Give examples of your previous work, a link to images/information on the game, and tell us why we should care. Remember, you're trying to sell the project to people - they won't help you if they are uninterested. Also specify incentives/payment for helping with the project, if you are willing to give any. I have noticed a problem with these sorts of topics - IF YOU DO NOT CONFORM TO THESE RULES, YOUR TOPIC WILL BE LOCKED.
When asking for help OR making requests:
1) Be courteous and type so people can understand you. If you don't do this your topic will likely be locked. This forum is not an online bathroom stall.
2) Be patient. People will respond on their own time, and making yourself look like an ass by bumping your topic will make people less likely to help out now and in the future.
3) Keep the number of questions/requests per topic reasonable. Do not post further/unrelated questions/requests deep into a topic. Also, do not turn a help thread into a request thread, or vice-versa. Making a topic confusing when it doesn't need to be is a waste of everyone's time.
4) Thank the person(s) who helped you out, either by posting in the forum, PM/IMing them, or emailing them. I'm not asking for great netiquette here, but I've noticed a disturbing lack of 'thank yous' in this forum. Do this and people will like you more.
5) Do not ask for OR post any links to ANY kind of illegal software (warez). This includes RPG Maker 2000 and 2003. More then one offense will equal a ban.
That is basically the resource section in a nutshell. As like the rest of the site, it is completely submission driven. We will be launching with a group of resources. We ask that everyone join in and add their own favorite resources, comment, and rate resources.
Final Note:
If it's obvious you have not read this and repeatedly offend the rules, you will inevitably be banned for being a dingus. And, most likely, no one will miss you.

- The site is divided into Resource Categories. Categories are cross-engine so there is as little duplication as possible. For example, Chipsets (RM2k/3) is a category available to RPG Maker 2000 and RPG Maker 2003.
- You can view resources by category or by engine. All the resource categories hooked to the appropriate engine will be displayed.
- Every resource has a rating. You can give each resource a thumbs up or thumbs down, and this will be averaged into a 5 star rating that is displayed. This new rating system will also be put throughout other sections of the site.
- Every resource has tags. Tags are space delimited and single words. Use tags to more accurately describe the resource you are uploading.
- Custom resources. We would rather you upload custom resources than rips. When you are submitting your resource, you will designate if the resource is custom or not. Do not try to claim other resources as your own. Rips are not yours. We are checking this.
- Your name will not be displayed on non-custom resources.
- Your name will be displayed on custom resources. Your custom resources are also easily findable via the Resources tab inside your user profile.
- Resources give you 2-5 Makerscore. Original resources will give you 10-20. These numbers have not been finalized yet.
- To submit a resource, you will supply an appropriate category, title, file, and if it is custom. The resource will show up in your submission panel.

RMN v2
For the past few weeks now, I've been working on "RMN v2". It's not a complete rewrite of the current site, but I'd say that when finished, over 70% of the code will be redone.
The new site will have some features people have been asking about: resources, game subscriptions, and so forth. I'll list some of them below.
Those are the main laundry list items. There are tweaks all around, including an improved layout and forum integration.
Here's what I've been working on today. It's the new user view page.

- New notification system. Whenever something needs your attention on the site, you will be notified. Examples include comments on your game/screenshot/whatever, game updates, and so forth.
- Game subscriptions. Whenever a game is updated, you will be notified on-site.
- Resources. The most requested feature since the site launched. You'll be able to submit resources and view their status on the submission panel like any other submission.
- Search. Search the forums and any other site content.

Forum Update
There is a new forum named "Help & Requests". Specific questions about game development and whatever else goes there. THIS forum is only for actual game discussion and game design discussion.
Metroid Prime 3
I picked this up yesterday and played it for about 12 hours straight. It's even better than the first Prime game and lightyears better than Prime 2.
Has anyone else picked this up and wants to swap codes for green achievements?
EDIT: To add more excitement to this post, I love this game. The controls are totally amazing as are the graphics. Sure, they don't have the heartless normal mapping and shit you see in some other games, but man. Retro sure knows how to design sci-fi stuff. The whole game is moody and immersive and the music! The music is absolutely stellar.
It also confirms a lot of things about the chozo, for those Metroid lore fans out there.
Here's an awesome image of the game.
