can sell crops for money.

Both of you keep mentioning this, the random NPCs who move in would buy just about anything from you.

Some people love grinding, repetitive things.

There's no grinding or repetitive things in LandTraveller, you can easily get enough of crop in a few moments and there's no trampling so you can leave them unattended... which is the advantage of being an herbivore, you gain much less EP from vegetables if you're a carnivore.

im not talking about the hunger mechanic. im talking about having a bunch of pointless ways to make food rendering the game mechanic shallow. pretty much everything about minecraft is shallow. it's fun in small doses but i don't think i could play it endlessly without getting bored.

:P you dont have to listen to me, obviously, but im still going to suggest what i would like to see

It sounds like Minecraft / Terraria just aren't your kind of games. You may not like LandTraveller either even though it's more of an RPG.

what you just described is incredibly basic and shallow as a game mechanic.

I don't think so.

I always felt the survival mechanic from the food in Minecraft.

Stacking a bunch of RPG elements on something is the quickest way to make something bland, confusing, and mediocre.

It takes me forever to design something simple, because I want to design it right.

it's nice to have farming, but please make it useful and worthwhile. same goes for every added feature. i like minecraft but i hate shallow the gameplay is. it could be so much better. (just mentioning MC cause it's similar, i know this is not MC)

LandTraveller is everything I thought was missing from Minecraft and Terraria. For farming, you need to eat food to have energy. It wasn't actually pointless in Minecraft either, but it was hunger. You even start taking damage and lose the ability to dash if you get too hungry. So I don't really see what you mean.

LandTraveller will be much less forgiving than both.

I'll implement other stuff to grow later, its just tomatoes now to test the entire system of growing things.

It is, you can get a better demonstration by downloading the game and just creating worlds. Depending on how big you resize the window, it lets you see a higher resolution world preview (it goes up to 2048 wide).

Not really, I'm still working on this screen.
