You should highlight the blues of the crystals and the lights back up to normal brightness to make for some cool contrast and appearance of light in darkness.

I like how you made the sprites tiny to illustrate the fact you're on a world map, nice touch. Almost no old school style RPGs I've seen do this for some reason.

The effect of the candle lights are weak, make the rest of the scene much darker so the candles look brighter.

The title graphic melts into the scene, so you need to make the background images tinted and a bit darker, or do something with the title graphic. I recommend you apply a color to the entire background (or separate colors for the separate settings). Also draw something between the seams in the background to show they're separate scenes. Right now it looked like you just uploaded a chipset/tileset image at first.
