Legion Saga X - Episode One: The Children of Prophecy

Looks like a winner to me, Travio; the plot had me at... just making sense. I'll be following this one.

Japan: Jubei's Vengeance I+II+III Complete Edition

Perhaps the biggest mind fuck of all. Right from the start I don't have a clue on what's happening. All I know is that I banged some girl (a wife or a sister) and then left to kill a dragon. That's it. All of the Japanese words, I can't even begin to know what they mean. Is this game targeted solely toward a Japanese audience?

If so, then hosting on a Japanese gaming website would be better than here, on an English one. If not, then touch up your English big time and perhaps providing some sort of in-game guide to Japanese would be great. Just food for thought.

Pros/Cons:
+ Nice visuals and mapping (a little heavy on the winter-ly overlay, perhaps)
+ Nice music and sound effects (even if some are used out of place)
- Terrible writing (I respect all origins... but come on, you're hosting on an English website)
- Poor animations and cut-scenes (a lot of simple mistakes like characters facing the wrong directions)
- Writing runs out of the text box (how could you not have caught this?)
- Provides little meaning to the Japanese words (perhaps writing the English meaning would be very helpful?)

Biggest cons right now have something to do with the writing. You praise this game's story as something that'll blow our mind, but if we can't read and understand it, it's highly unlikely to happen.

Thank you for your feedback, Wyvern.

Rest assured that the grammatical mistakes will be addressed. As far as mapping goes, I will put forth my best effort to improve the quality of the maps before the game's release, though I do admit that I am still in the learning process of making them.

Some of the dialogue will be (and already has been) rewritten in the final build to give the characters a bit of "oomph" to make them stand out more. I don't recall using "It's just a demo" as an excuse for the quality, but I will keep your advice in mind.

I'm sorry that the demo was an overall negative experience for you. I hope you'll enjoy the full game when it comes out. Thank you for taking the time to play the demo!

Thanks for taking the feedback in a positive way. Other developers could learn a lot from you. The demo was still fun, despite all of the negativity. It has good potential, you just have to flesh out a few things that bog the game down right now.

I downloaded this game a few moments ago and just finished the demo. There are a few things that should be brought to your attention:

1. The game is filled with grammatical mistakes - from spelling errors to sentences with missing words. This really does ruin the dialogue for me. I don't feel liking reading it after the third of forth encountered mistake.

2. The mapping seems too bland. All of it seems original and even rushed. And no, this isn't the fault of the RTP this time. It's just poor mapping in my opinion.

3. The characters come completely emotionless and without detail. You can't use "but it's just a demo!" excuse. I mean, if I don't feel something for the characters within an hour, what's another hour or ten going to do?

I know it sounds like a lot of negative feedback but it's better to get it here than in a one-star review, right?

CALLSHOPLV2.png

An interesting alternative concept on how to handle "call shops" would be to continue to have regular shops (which Deckiller does), but use the call shop scrolls to sell items at a cheaper price than in stores. Furthermore, the higher the level of the shop, the better items it sells at a even lower price than the merchants back in town. It would make finding the scrolls a lot more exciting but also a lot less common.

This was sort of put together when I just woke up; I apologize ahead of time if it's a little dumb.

The part about being dumped into a surreal town where all of the resident's fears, nightmares, and bad vibes come to life sounds a lot like Silent Hill. Am I wrong about this?
Yes.

I-I don't think I am. Am I? All joking aside, you've certainly got my attention with this one - regardless of what it's like.

Yeah, random encounters suck, but with Lite and the scope of this game they were kind of a necessity unless I spent even more time with parallel processes. Fixed encounters is something I'll definitely consider implementing after completing the game.

I forgot about the limitations of Lite; I forgot about the limited number of events allowed per map.

Kolmesarta

My only complaint with this game, so far, are the random monster encounters. Then again, that is more than likely a general complaint with everyone here.
