Hi! Thank you for peeping at my profile.
I like making modern-themed games. My first game, Onyx, was made in 2006, when I was a senior in high school. So it's pretty ROUGH, but people seem to like it? Total Chaos is my personal favorite, but it has some, erm, issues, too. Mystery Man Zero is coming you guys, I haven't forgotten about it. A full-game will come out even if it takes 10 years. Oh gosh, I hope it doesn't take that long, but you get what I'm saying, right?
Right now, I am also working on A Nightmare in Sunnydale, a horror genre mesh-up fangame, if you will. I also like playing games. Actually, playing RPGM games is legit one of my favorite pastimes. *insert smiley here*
When I can fit it in, I do a little bit of Gatekeeper as well, a sci-fi fantasy about a team of god-lite forces, Gatekeepers, who have to protect the dying Earth from forces they don't even know about.

Anime - your guilty pleasure
I was obsessed with anime for like a year. Then I grew out of it.
Though, I'll always have a soft spot for Ranma (because it was my first anime) and Evangelion (because it awesome). Maybe one day I'll buy the boxset for both.

I bought it because I liked Star Ocean 2. also I'm a sucker for JRPG's. what sorts of things will I hate about it? Can I offset the difficulty with gamebreaking item creation a-la Star Ocean 2 like Claude's Eternal Sphere?
Seriously.
SO3 is all style over substance. Story issues aside, the game is just boring as fuck.

The importance of Music in a game

I just want to say that the track Underneath the Rotting Pizza was the single piece of the puzzle that made the Slums in FF7 one of the most memorable video game settings I have ever played.

Also, truth be told I'm not sure if I would love Persona 2 as much as I do if the music wasn't so hot. And the scariest part about the Silent Hill games is the fact that the music gets louder and heavier whenever you're close to figuring out something. Music can add a hell of a lot to a game.
Most underrated and overrated RPGs
For underrated, I was going to say Okage: Shadow King too. I had so much fun with that game.
Overrated....hmm, I'm not sure. Star Ocean 3, I guess. It received pretty high scores, but I thought it sucked hard. I didn't buy SO4 because of it, which is a shame, for I loved SO2 and still do.

Also, I think it's just about knowing what you're capable of doing. My "skill" as a "game maker" is limited, I know this. I know what I can do, what I can't do, and I work within my limits. I focus on what (I think) my strengths are, and I don't set out to do things that I know I cannot do, just to try to compete with everyone else (or hop on the latest trends).
It's all about being realistic. And I guess it helps that I'm not heavily into the boards, unless I come across a game I like. =P
