Hi! Thank you for peeping at my profile.
I like making modern-themed games. My first game, Onyx, was made in 2006, when I was a senior in high school. So it's pretty ROUGH, but people seem to like it? Total Chaos is my personal favorite, but it has some, erm, issues, too. Mystery Man Zero is coming you guys, I haven't forgotten about it. A full-game will come out even if it takes 10 years. Oh gosh, I hope it doesn't take that long, but you get what I'm saying, right?
Right now, I am also working on A Nightmare in Sunnydale, a horror genre mesh-up fangame, if you will. I also like playing games. Actually, playing RPGM games is legit one of my favorite pastimes. *insert smiley here*
When I can fit it in, I do a little bit of Gatekeeper as well, a sci-fi fantasy about a team of god-lite forces, Gatekeepers, who have to protect the dying Earth from forces they don't even know about.

The main character is the one with most relevance to the story. Ashe was clearly the main character of FF12.
Yes, he's plastered all over the promo and you're forced to "use" him when you're in towns, but he really isn't the leading character and the game doesn't treat him as such. He's mainly just along for the ride, but he doesn't steal attention from the other characters.
Truth to be told, Vaan wasn't even featured a whole lot to invoke so much hatred among players, but whatevs. I kinda liked him, because I expected him to be a whiny insufferable brat and he wasn't.
I'll answer that: because the purpose was to create a main character that wasn't directly involved in the plot but somehow found themselves caught up in the events, to give players a different feel from the other final fantasy games...to have a main character that *wasn't* the main hero. It was something new and different that they wanted to try. It didn't work.
The REAL reason Vaan is called "the main character" is to sell copies. That's it. He's used to lure in teenbait who like playing as girly-looking dudes to get them to buy the game, after which Vaan is quickly pushed to the side while the real leads emerge.
It's kind of like Drew Barrymore and Scream (omg, BAD EXAMPLE!). She was advertised as being the lead (one of the leads), but she definitely wasn't.

Every character other than Ashe was pretty much pointless, though. But poor Vaan and Penelo are always the ones singled out.

Ashe was amazing. She was a total bitch and it was awesome.
But then she was inflicted with the Cordelia Chase syndrome and became soft.

I like this thread is a pretty much a Tidus hate thread. "Realistic" or no, he was annoying, and his bitching grew tiresome.

I didn't get that far. I took a "break" from it. The game just moves too damn slow for me.
I have heard that it had a great storyline though, so maybe I'll pick it up again soon... But still, running around the same building endlessly having extremely vague clues on what to do next got really old.
