What happened to some forums?
author=tardisauthor=kentona\:
the topics in General are getting shittier.
tardis you seem opposed to siliness
i wasn't expecting that why is this?
Blue Magic (and other "missable" skills)
limiting the number of times an enemy has to use it's spells on you in order to learn the ability would make it alot less painful
also make sure the player knows which spells can be learned and which can't so he isn't constantly left in the dark

Should giant shops be broken up?
if you have a shop with that many items than you should split it into 2 or 3 shops
this has the added benefit of there being less buildings in your city that the player can't enter :>

I invite Karsuman, Infectionfiles, and Necrile to play the game themselves and then express what they think

I'll just say that he should try harder not to think about the time limit for future games, I'm left not knowing whether or not I should throw the feedback out entirely or if this is the same first 10 minute expereince for most people who are playing the game normally
of course when you already have a positive review that tends to make you a bit more indignant than you otherwise would be
edit: yeah i'm the type to check absolutely everything in a town so I guess i built my game that way, almost everything there can be interacted with and many things actually say something new if you check them a second time. Since this is second nature to me and to alot of other players than just a simple directive (blue haired kid tells you to go back to your house next) and a clue (sign in front saying this is your house) ought to be enough. Several other characters also mentioned the objective but it's not like I didn't know this game wasn't a hit or miss type of game.
I think you are going about this with the right attitude, what is bothering me is some of the other posters being all "first impressions are important these games don't make good first impressions you shouldn't have to say it gets better later blah blah blah" makes me a bit annoyed cause it seems not everyone is getting the "this is the opinion of one person who is not trying to determine whether or not the intro is objectively good or bad" part of this whole thing. I resent being compared to FF13

What's your white whale?
world domination
it just keeps eluding me :(
also as far as emulation goes: the publisher ony loses money if it is something that you would have bought if it wasn't free and/or is currently available for you to buy. Imagine if emulation never existed woud you be going down to the store or logging on to amazon and buying the game? and be honest. if the answer is "probably" than you are a naughty boy, if the answer is "of course not" than knock yourself out since if the people behind the game would be getting nothing from you either way, you really aren't cheating them out of anything at all
that's how i see it, and should be how everyone sees it but ya know, can't get that world takeover thing off the ground

the thing is if you force an arbitrary time limit on yourself you don't really allow yourself to "get into" the game. You rush in order to cram in as much of the game as possibe in 10 mins and wind up confusing yourself or not really reading any of the text which in an rpg is sure to make you lose interest fast. Had he actually took his time with it and still didn't like it I'd understand a bit better but it really seems like he is keeping the time limit in the back of his mind in all of these. Agitation if a game wants you to explore an area, skipping text, not reading signs or checking anything out, panicy movement when not exactly sure what to do next, etc.
not that i'm bitter of course :3
