Mandew vs. the Forever Rain

Question about proper place to post...

yeah i guess this forum (help and requests) would be the best place for that

i'm confused about this too since a different RM site i went to had a specific place for this (wasn't a problem for me though since i was always very certain about what i wanted to do)

Question about proper place to post...

i don't think there is a place here for running ideas by people...

Is Less More or More Less?

i find the more sweet features i add to my game the less likely i am to actually finish it

the most important thing to remember is your own abilities what you can and can not easily accomplish

not to say you should shy away from all the cool stuff, just don't cram in too much or you'll overwhelm yourself, keep in mind that you have to actually implement this stuff!

how can an rpg be denied

um you guys seem to like me and my grammar is even worse

Let's Play Software

go to you basement and dig up a tv from the 70's and film the gameplay with your camcorder

this is the pro's method

Main character choices vs. Concrete personality

author=Sailerius
Why do the two have to be mutually exclusive? If you want to have a character with a concrete personality, just limit the choices to different things they would do or say. Not only does that prevent the player from derailing the character, but it also gives the player insight into the character's personality by letting them see the different approaches they consider to a given situation.

i love choice system games but one thing that always bothered me about them were the ridiculous extremes of the options it's either something jesus would do or "i kill you dead"

better to make a personality for your character and let the player choose from the multiple actions the main character would consider in that situation given who the main character is

The unbeatable battle.

well like i said my idea is to just take all the non essentia items away after the fight and give the player a ton of money to buy new stuff in a new location

though i guess not everyone has a convient cutscene that ends with the player character being somewhere else where he can buy stuff

Turn-Based...dead?

i might actually be able to tolerate a turn based mmorpg

an inability to press the dang spell buttons and then select my target quickly enough is my biggest beef with them

there is no point in having real time controls if it's just going to be clunky and boring, but that is just my usual feelings when i am fighting in a mmo

Upcoming RMN Updates (01/24/2011)

i have an objection

all the fun topics are immeadiately moved into the city dump right when i'm just starting to enjoy them
