i guess i just come from the "go into all the houses in a town" school of rpgs (blue haired kid tells you to find your father's house during the cutscene but you were skipping alot of dialogue to save time so you might have missed that?)

strange thing about the music tho, you're the first one i've run into who's reported not hearing it

What is the Biggest Design Flaw in Games?

why even have an easy mode if you won't let the player beat the game on it?

the point of easy mode is to make sure that even the babbys and casuals will still see all of the game you spent so much time on (and if you're commercial will not complain about wasting thier money on a game they couldn't beat)

Rewards for good blog post.

I'm guessing you don't quite get it, most blogs are things like that: http://rpgmaker.net/games/2842/blog/4294/
The blog's page existence does not change that, as it means most blog posts are that sort of content, which is to say; barely any content. Who will want to check them out if most of them are just that?
I don't think there's any sort of problem with this kind of blog post. The biggest problem our blogs have is that every time someone makes a post that's less than a page, everyone bashes it for being "pointless". What does that even mean? It's not like it's penis enlargement spam.

Blog posts don't need to be epic. You're not going to have some vital and huge change every day. But it's still good to post every day. It's just like blogging on Facebook or Twitter or Livejournal or anywhere else. The blog is just a way for you to talk about what you did each day. If you're not going to use the blog, then don't make one. The only blogs I dislike are the ones that don't update.

The only problem we have is that we have a list of all the latest blog posts from *everyone*. Such a list is pointless and awful. Imagine if Livejournal or Facebook did that. No one would read that either - it would be equally pointless and awful.

Therefore, I think the list of latest blog posts should be removed from the site. Each person's blog is for their own game, not for the entire community. And only people who check a blog for updates should see those updates. A better system might be if the front page only showed posts from blogs that the user is currently following. Something like Facebook's "recent activity" page that shows all the latest posts your friends have made.

witch anime did you look forward too?

lmao, wolfcoder, i am starting to like you :3

edit: i like detective conan as well but bobobo might secretly be my favorite ever

[EVENT] Community project: Super RMN RPG VX

i might be interested in this, though i find one tile high buildings in vx to be a bit annoying

and there is the problem of me never knowing how many switches i will really need for an area ahead of time :<

edit: and how my writing style for dialogue is based on who the main characters are and having the personalities of the main characters play off each other and the NPCs they interact with. don't know how I'l handle generics/silent protagonists

What is the Biggest Design Flaw in Games?

sometimes saying "this is a retro game!" is a crutch people use to justify parts of thier game that aren't any fun

than again kentona makes great "retro" games again and again so there is nothing wrong with sticking to the basics if you really know how to do it right

TToF.png

not everyone is able to make thier own tilesets or use panoramas you know

if you have a problem with the high number of people on this site that must rely on the RTP or a variation of the RTP such as Mack's tiles that is fine but don't vent your frustration on a random gamepage, especially when the maps are actually quite decent
