MV is OUT!
Dammit! I'm envious of you, people (If someone wishes to gift me a copy of MV you'll become my new best friend). Something that I would like to know is how well does the touch features work on mobile. Can you do things like swipes, long-presses and the like? If someone gets the chance to test that, let me know... Also, are the mapping tools any good? =P
[General Design] What is the worst implemented/thought out system you've encountered?
Talking about N64 games, I recently had a flashback about something that I really hated about Banjo Tooie. Don't take me wrong, I love the game. It obviously builds upon and improves on many aspects of the first game. But one area I felt the developers dropped the ball on was the whole "learning of moves" deal. I feel like they couldn't think of many cool and original new moves to put in the game, so instead they tried to over-stretch the concept. Not only some moves are just stronger versions of their past iterations, but at one point you can separate Banjo and Kazooie, and things just get complicated from there...
Kazzoie apparently needs to "learn" how to jump higher on her own, even thought that would make sense considering she's not carrying Banjo's weight anymore; Let's also not forget that she can in fact jump higher when using one of those green spring pads all by herself. Banjo on his part apparently forgets how to use his fists when Kazzoie is not around, so he needs to "learn" how to use his backpack in order to hit enemies... And like these there are many examples.
This slowed me down and made me backtrack through the levels a lot. Every time that I got a new move, I kept going back to previous levels thinking that that new ability was the one that would help me get those few elusive jiggies. I always felt like I was doing something wrong, or missing something out... In part this was my fault for not just beating the game first and then coming back for the rest. But you can't ask a "completionist" like me not to get everything ASAP. -_-

Aorta Review
lol It's just a silly game not "garbage", for crying out loud. And if the author no longer finds that kind of stuff funny, then that's fine, it's his call. It's not motive for celebration like if someone got over an affliction or whatever... Geez. Try to be less judgmental, people. =/
(And I'm not just picking on "colorful" language, mind you. I think there's enough of a, would you say, "attitude problem"? behind this.)

It's hard to find fault with the review itself. It seems that the game does in fact poorly in every aspect and it deserves the score. But I have to wonder how much of that was colored by the author's obvious stand on the type of humor used in the game... I'd hate to see that become (more of) a thing on rmn. People letting their biases weight too heavily on their evaluation of games.
Edit: That's why I said: "more of" a thing. =^) ...I'm right up there with you about the black on red issue, though. @_@

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I'm playing Chrono Cross once again for the first time ever since I originally got it like, 15 or so years ago? I remember I hated it back then for not being Chrono Trigger, but I had forgotten how hard it tries to be Chrono Trigger: "The original game had a fair, let's have a festival! It had a Dragon Tank boss, let's have a Dwarf Tank boss! It had a robot character, let's have a cyborg character! It had an scene where a character jumps through a stained glass window, let's have that too!" ...well, you get the point.
Speaking of the characters, this time around I'll only be getting the cool ones. Screw all those others that are just there for the novelty of it, like the Mushroom guy, or the Skeleton guy, or the alien, or the fairy, or the baby dragon, or... Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to include so many weird characters with zero development or a reason to be there??? xP
But besides that, I remember I kind of liked the story and the gameplay, so hopefully I'll be able to enjoy it more this time around.

What the hell would sex with 2k3 sprites even look like, lmao
(The one that rmn let get away)
Would someone be as kind as to help me list emotions you feel in conversations?
"Mortification" does appears in one of those tables. "Mortification" is such a funny word, btw. It sounds so over-the-top, that it's almost comical. How does a "mortified" person looks like, I wonder? ...Anyway, most of these words are just synonyms. I see little to no point in trying to catalog or quantify them. Just open up a thesaurus, for Christ's sake.

But to add to the topic: usually I feel some kind of "second-hand embarrassment" by the vast amounts of 'doublethink' in display.
That, and a bit of "Schadenfreude", specially when some people gets thrown under the bus by their ideological overlords. =^)

What are you thinking about right now?
lol, the last time we discussed guns the thread got locked. Same players, same arguments, same everything... Just a reminder. =P
This is exactly how I feel about painting. I used to paint a lot when I was younger. I used to love the smell of the oil paints and the sight of a blank canvas. But overtime this became more and more of a chore. And even after I switched the real thing for the practicality of digital painting, I find myself painting less and less each year. =_=
Besides, kids are mad talented these days, practically out of the womb. When you can barely compete anymore with the average DeviantArt user, you know it's time to go the way of the dodo. u_u

Probably the most depressing thing in my life is how I feel like I just get worse and worse at playing guitar. I slowly get less ambitious, and I feel the music less and less. One day, I'll just be stood there stone faced, and realize that this is the end of music for me.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
Well, fonts I understand, they're no different than any other creative work (I should know, I've made a few fonts). But I mean, if I draw something on a piece of paper, should I credit the company that manufactured the paper? or the pencil I'm holding? Where does the credit-ception stops!??? =P ...But yeah, I guess you're right. It's a good practice, regardless.
