I think I might give some money steals to every enemy so that it's clear that you should be checking what you can grift from everyone.

Oh okay, there are enemies you can steal from. I just checked the Skitter and saw that. I thought I used it against all the enemies but I clearly wasn't thorough enough. I guess I just figured you didn't include any in the demo. Grifting money would be pretty cool.

Try stealing from one of the trio of dastardly characters near the end of the demo for hilarious (in my opinion) result XD

Dang, I missed some cool grifting action. What happens?

Wait, you can actually steal in this demo? Everytime I tried to use Grist it showed no items for any of the enemies in the game. Am I missing something?

@dink: Yep, that's the only optional boss encounter in the demo (there's also a boss-less optional mine in Giant Garden). The full game will have quite a few optional areas like the one you found.

Keep the bug reports coming, guys, I'm fixing them as soon as I see them posted. How bad is the lag? Is it dropping a frame every few steps or is it major stuttering all the time?

Yeah, I ran into that place too! I was tense the whole because I was expecting a boss battle throughout that entire walk. Guessing it's going to be behind that webbed-door. Looking forward to that if so.

I don't know about everyone else, but I really only had lag in the cloudy hill area. It was every few steps which I thought was weird because the area didn't seem too covered in events or anything like that to cause the slowdown.

Just beat it! I can already tell this game is going to be something most special. At first I didn't even realize the fountains were healing points and found myself falling in battle to heal up...(pretty embarrassing in retrospect). I really loved the goon hideout and pretty much all of the characters! Shaking all of the characters was fun too. The transition from locations to the world map is one of the best things ever.
Information Guy just can't catch a break can he? When I found his pipe exit I was laughing up a storm.
I curse you for ending it on that cliffhanger, I wanted more!

How many optional bosses are there in the demo? I found
Slither
(who is a tough SOB) and was wondering if you had a few more hidden away.

Also, I did run into a few visual glitches. Mainly just a few overhead tiles (the tree behind the grave in Smiles and at the goon hideout before jumping into the hole), but I also had the battle exclamation mark stay over my character for a little bit after a battle. I was spamming slime calls so that may have had something to do with it. I also had the same thing Sgt. Metool had with the fox enemy respawning when the cloud enemy splits up. Guessing that's not intentional.

All-in-all it was very impressive!

Special Announcement!

Next week confirmed for best week ever.

Information Guy: Status Effects 4 (Player Buffs)

Information guy continues to be the best. These are some damn good status effects you've got cooking up as well.

Way to go guys! Great work!

You showed how to kick that butt. Take those names.

Looking forward to playing the expanded version at a later date! Keep doing what you're doing.

Grist of Flies made it into the RPG Engine Prize!

Top RPG up in here! Glad to see it go towards one of my favorite games.

Congrats! Definitely an A+ achievement.

Yep, it's basically a one-man project--the only exception being the scripting aspect, which is at this point all pre-made scripts other than a few small adjustments and hopefully some custom stuff by a friend of mine.

It's hard to say how long it took me to finish all the enemy graphics. On a day off, I tended to average about five monsters a day, but my day job gets hectic during finals/mid-terms, so those were dry periods. I can produce things pretty quickly during summer and winter breaks, so I'm hoping to knock out a pretty big chunk of dev stuff this summer.

Your level. How I get? I'll be looking forward to any playable build you may develop in the future.

God help us if you ever learn RGSS.

Another World of Beasts

Wow. So is this a fully one-manned project? You're doing the story, music, graphics, etc. from the ground up? That...that is impressive.

Man. You gotta stop being a multi-talented machine Housekeeping. Us humans can barely keep up. How long did it take you to make all 372 enemies (plus however many unique graphics)?
