I'm gonna guess it's a stylistic thing for reasons of anime style not lending itself well to showing a lot of facial wrinkles and also anime style favouring BIG HAIR~
Also the fact these sorts of anime folks tend to have skinny eyebrows, whereas other artists favour the heavier brows, y'know? It's easier to emote with huge eyebrows than it is with skinny ones, so folks make adjustments where they can~

Really, having like... 4-5 shades per colour is beautiful, but 2 is so much easier to deal with. So. Much. Easier.

That GGers and those like them are so angered by a woman having an opinion says more about them than I ever could.
To anyone who doubts the accuracy of this statement: go read Felicia Day's response to Gamergate, and then remember that, after releasing that gentle as fuck statement, someone released her home address so people could terrorize and stalk her. That is why people get doxxed: it is a power play to tell someone "I could come over whenever I want and there's nothing you can do about it", only multiplying it by a lot.
And the guy who wrote the set of tweets that Solitayre linked? He released those around the same time as Day's response. Nothing even close to that happened.
There are perhaps some people who are for ethics in games journalism who have hung their hat on Gamergate, but Gamergate itself is and always will be about hating women.
If you really care about games journalism, go start your own movement. This one is poisoned at the source.

...it's so weird seeing it on the front page again, omg. It has been Literal Years. >__>
Yuna has said herself that she can defs do better now (I'm super stoked for Tristian!!), but I think Enelysion is still a great example of what someone can do with the engine! That is, make a FULL FUCKIN' GAME that is super pretty and super cool and has some super cute characters in it! It's also a labour of love, and I think that's really important: Enelysion really was made out of love for game making, and that's just, like, it's cool, man. It's v inspiring. ;w;

Enelysion probably needs to sort out a lot of bugs first. Also, I don't really see what's so appealing about it--other than the maps, which are definitely gorgeous. I played it to completion, and gameplay seemed pretty stock, difficulty fluctuated like crazy, and the story was pretty macguffiny. I'd prefer It Moves to that, at least. Kind of felt non-gamey at times, but it was legitimately creepy.
