GIAKS'S PROFILE

A time comes in every man's life when they get shaken to the core, when the river of ambition sinks low to the earth and the very rock that man has built the foundation of his life upon crumbles. There in his tiny shattered world, amongst the rubble of his broken hopes and dreams he waits. Time loses meaning and he watches as eternity fades into oblivion...yet still he waits; for one day he knows the rain will fall.

...and when it does he is reforge, from the mud that surrounds him, from the ash that covers him, from the very spark of thought that has innovated all life...he will rise!

We can shape him, make him to what we want him to be...and in the end...we can be entertained!
RPG MAKER man...it's a ton of fun!!

RPG Maker VX Ace - Nugget Crash Course

yeah, you don't want to rush the judges. no matter how much passion you have, it's still a daunting task judging 20+ games. I played 4 last night, and though I enjoyed them all I could tell my passion for playing was somewhat wavering by the end of the night. give the judges plenty of time to play each and gather thoughts and opinions.

personally, I'd recommend downloading all of them and playing them to completion. this way the games get played(as that's what games are all about) and we get to "walk in the judges shoes" only without the pressure of having our thoughts opinions on display(unless we so choose of course). playing all of them could also help gauge where the judges may be in the judging process. if we haven't had time to play them all yet, chances are good the judges haven't either.

My first RPG Maker project

I should mention that its for RPG Maker VX. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and this is my first real project...since the contest is over i'm done with the scene. Still it was fun to make and i made it to be viewed, so I hope you enjoy it. I look forward to comments, criticisms, advice and the like. also if anyone else has a Let's make a scene project that didn't make it to the top 8 i'd love to see them. :)

Let's make a scene...not the top 8

Darken - Thanks :) yeah it was a lot of fun to experiment and make stuff, the mouth thing was super easy really...maybe there is a place i could write a tutorial about it...in the end i figured out that it only takes about 10 mins to set up per char, and once you have it set up...you are set for the rest of the game. i'm sure everything i did was done in a pretty horrible fashion considering i don't know how to script or anything so it had to all be event driven :(

Kentona - Thanks. I'm not really sure how all this works, i'm somewhat done working on this project and this is where my first post should go haha. however if you wanted me to put it over there i can. is there a way to move the entire post or should i just repost it?

P.S. ~ have you guys checked out the top 8 and the honorable mention yet? they are pretty awesome. I loved the atmosphere bunny was able to set. there were all really good though. Thanks again for watching my cut scene, i hope others post the links to theirs so i can watch them all :D

Let's make a scene...not the top 8

So I'm a new user to this site, and I have been using RPG maker for only about 3 weeks.

I didn't win the Lets make a scene contest on rpgmakerweb.com but i made a scene and i'd like it to be viewed...its not great(clearly) but it was a lot of fun to make, just to see how things worked and if i could stretch my mind a bit. anyway i'd like to link it here...

I just figure, i spent the time making it i'd like it to be viewed and not gather digital dust. i'd also love to see others scene's that didn't make the top 8. just cause we didn't make it to the top 8 doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the work we've put into 'em...

I hope this is allowed.
