I'm working on finishing up my tutorial today. The big issue is that I haven't a clue how to write tutorials, so I'm not really sure if it's going to make any sense...or if I'll finish in time.

haha, so true. I just listed a few things I wouldn't mind seeing posted as tutorials here on RMN in case someone was looking for ideas. I would read a tutorial on using show picture and wait to make battle animations, though I'd rather see a tutorial on using show picture and wait to make a side view battle system. I just enjoy the concepts of thinking outside the box when working with limitations. Now that you mention it though, I don't think I saw any VX Ace tutorials on how to use the 'Animations' tab in the database...so that could be added to the list.
*Lies, Incarnate made a tutorial video that somewhat covered the Animations.
Or even write a tutorial on how to write tutorials and articles :)

This section is a catch-all for anything that doesn't fit in the above categories. It may or may not be related to game making or RMN. It could have stories about pirates.'
However it seems like most stories end up in the 'Creative Corner' of the forum. If you are going for an Article you may want to consider sticking more to a newspaper or essay style...or at least make sure your story has pirates in it ;)
I've been looking at the tutorials for RPG Maker VX Ace on RMN and trying to note stuff I haven't seen covered yet. It's a small list but here it is:
1) Loop - Break Loop, Label - Jump to Label
2) Other functions of 'Move Route' (the ones that aren't so much movement)
3) Key items
4) 'Get Location Info...'
Pretty basic stuff there, however with the right presentation I think tutorials on them could be useful to people just starting out in eventing.

Window skin does not work. Have no idea of whats wrong. (VX ACE)
The background being blue rather then black has to do with your system settings in the database.
To fix this simple open up the database 'F9'
Go to 'System' Tab
Double click 'Window Color'
Adjust all color sliders to '0'
To eliminate the background being transparent you will have to add a line of code in the script editor
To fix this simple open up the script editor 'F11'
On the left side scroll down until you find 'Window_Base'
On the right side find 'Object Initialization'
Add the line 'self.back_opacity = 255'
The end result should look something like this...
