There's still time, you know. I seem to remember Kentona saying he'd be out of town today. ;)

Yeah I use EWQL, years ago I used HALion String Edition(1) but that turned out to be a huge waste of money as I was never happy with the realism of the instruments, and that was pretty beefy too. Unfortunately my MoBo can only handle 2GB RAM otherwise I would just upgrade - maybe it's time to bite the bullet, but maybe I'll give Garritan a go in the mean time! Cheers

I had to upgrade to 8 gigs of RAM in order to run EWQL. Even then, if I'm overloaded with simultaneous samples, I get premature cutoffs and/or annoying blips in latency. You basically either need an extremely powerful computer, or a pro quality mixer so you can take some of the taxing off the computer. My next purchase is a beefy mixer, but they're $1,000+ o_o;

its more like, you are not a teenager and I am not your parent. quit trying to push the boundaries just for the sake of it.

I wonder if having a babby prepared you for Administering RMN, or the other way around?

I'm only surprised it took till page 2 for this thread to get invaded by tropes.

Adam Smith's revenge:

When faced with the impending apocalypse, late-game RPG vendors will still seek maximum profit from the hero, even though the hero's failure would ensure certain death.
This is also true in reality.

When, in the span of human civilization, has the end of the world been a scientific certainty, and a small band of heroes been the only hope?

MEGAUPLOAD HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE FEDS

"Side?" I haven't seen anyone legitimately for SOPA/PIPA. It is clearly poorly-conceived and written. The closest I've seen are people trying to argue that piracy is in fact a problem, and that better measures could be taken to combat it without tyrannical, over-reaching government.

MEGAUPLOAD HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE FEDS

Eh, not too heartbroken about megaupload. This trend is inevitable anyway, as intellectual property rights become better defined. I will admit I haven't paid that much attention to the details of these bills (like most of us I'm willing to bet) but it seems to me that the most vocal people are unwilling to consider that protecting the creative process (intellectual property rights) and the free flow of information are not mutually exclusive.

Is singing allowed?
I sure hope so! Or I'm disqualified!

Gotta get that rap section in there.

The RPG Music Challenge - Phase 1 Results!

I instantly knew which was harmonic's entry when I heard it. I was wondering why the melody instrument was on the bottom, though.

NewBlack's entry was much better than I expected! :D

Anyway, I guess I should've went with the percussion for this theme, to get closer to the lava vibe. It was a tough choice to switch my percussion track to something else.

Anyway, congrats to the winner! Well deserved. Now I'm really looking forward to entries of the next round.
The results for the first phase were rather nice.

Thanks Happy. :)

The bass instrument was a pizzicato bass with tons of reverb soaked into it.

And yes it did seem like auxiliary percussion was the key to this phase.
