You can use both revenge and overpower! That's what I've rolled with through act2 inferno and half of act3.
Hit a brick wall as barbs stand so little chance against act3 inferno elite packs.
I finally beat the fart boss. How? By pretending I'm a demon hunter.
Throw spec - load up on crit, focus on weapon throw and fury-building other skills. Leap to jump over fart clouds. 15 minute fight, kiting and throwing the whole time. Try it as melee would be literally impossible without incredible gear + lifesteal.
Yep, enjoy your badass melee warrior.

What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to change a rule? If you're not trying to change a rule, you're just blowing hot air.
So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're trying to change a rule. If I'm not allowed to post a thread about my own games in the video games forum, then no commercial video games of any kind should be posted there either. Wait, makes no sense, right? Well, why should RPG Maker games not be allowed there?

It is binded to an ability called Overpower, which is an instant attack to anything within 9 yards of my barbarian for 165% of my weapon damage which is pretty nasty with my two-handed axe. The cooldown is 15 seconds but critical strikes have a chance to reduce the cooldown by one second and I have a 41.5% critical rate. I have attached the Revel rune, which heals me for 8% of my maximum health for every enemy it hits.

A lot of barbarians prefer Revenge (Provocation) to Overpower (Revel) for health sustain, but I like Overpower more since it has a defined cooldown rather than an activation rate. I can leap attack in and follow it up with Overpower as soon as I land, which hurts things pretty bad and kills many things if both attacks critically hit since I have a 239% damage modifier to critical hits.
The healing is nice, though. Against single targets, such as a boss, Revenge (Provocation) has a 30% chance to activate when you get hit and most bosses have slow but heavy attacks, and only heals for 5% of maximum HP. With my critical rate, I can reliably use Overpower (Revel) with decent frequency and don't have to rely on being hit to do so.
Another benefit of using Overpower over Revenge is Dexterity's bonus to dodge becomes useful. With Revenge, you'll get fewer activations if you're dodging.

rmn would be the worst platform to generate interest. i'm sorry but, if he has the rule in or not, from an advertising perspective there are other "places" that you should be advertising on.
i didn't have a problem with vacant sky dropping a link on his rmn page(besides the fact he couldn't tell people what the funds would be used for, legit question imo), because if it weren't for 2 posters viewing it nobody would have even noticed it. it was off the page in 1 day (hello stupid blog posters with update:crat rpg)

hope you realize if it were jude, brandon abley, teo etc, the universal response would be "rad" "gg" "grats" because it's not an RTP game, where people actually have to put effort time and quality to generate a unique world for people to experience. if you're trying to do commercial this should be a base standard lol.
Funny story, I haven't logged into RMN in a very long time. So I see the "no commercial games" topic in the news, and the ONLY reason I click is to see which jackass brought me or my games into the conversation.
Leave it to TFT to always fulfill the "that guy" role. I gotta give you props for consistency at least.
Facts (that are vital to the conversation but won't be read or taken into account):
-I never submitted a game commercially.
-I openly admitted, time and time again, that I expect no sales from RMN. With all three threads I've made, I've stated that RMN is kinda where I grew up as an RPGMaker, and felt compelled to share what I've accomplished.
-"Use RMN to generate interest" is dumb. I did a lot of other things. Posting on RMN was 0.00000001% of my total talking about my games on the internet.
-Oh and also, Skyborn is a unique world. You should play it some time.

Attraction is a great denominator. Only thing I ask is, if I say I'm not attracted to so and so person, and they happen to be a different race than I am, don't be playing the race card. You can appreciate the way something looks, or not like the way something looks without having an irrational hatred for the genetic and ethnic makeup of that person. Previous statement should be obvious to anyone with an IQ greater than or equal to a banana, but sadly this is not always the case.

The price point is definitely one challenge of the indie developer. The 14.95 is based solely on the status quo, which is generally a better metric than some arbitrary measurement of perceived value.
Arguments can be made on either side. Changing price can have multiple positive and negative effects, other than the obvious quantitative effect. Lowering can invite more sales, but also give the impression that the product is low quality compared to something higher-priced. It's a weird balance to walk. One of those things we'll just have to accept that there's no magic bullet answer to.
