My Life As a Bottom-Feeder: On Hunting Music in the Public Domain

It really is a weird feeling of satisfaction, isn't it? I guess it's sort of part of the RPGmaker experience, since games have so many songs and you have to assemble them with specific places, make them fit together, etc.

Blog 26: Seraphic Blue is officially in Post-Translation Stage

YESSSS! Also wow--I haven't checked RMN in quite a while and cool surprise to find out the game should be released so soon.

X-Noir Complete

Nice! I appreciate that you still released this version even if you're moving on to other stuff--which sounds like it has the completed story even if some of the gameplay is missing? I liked the demo a lot and unconventional approach to making an RPG; looking forward to digging into the full game.

Blog 22: Latest update to Seraphic Blue Progress

So glad to hear you guys are so far into it. Can't wait.

X-Noir Near Completion

I'm definitely pumped for the game. Looking forward to playing it whenever it's out; really curious to see the different directions you two have gone in since Master of the Wind.

Let the rewrite begin!

I think this is a great idea--and those are some very solid revisions. I've sampled the game, and I thought it was really solid in most ways, but there were definitely some issues with tone near the beginning that I think does a great job fixing. Good luck!

Indefinite hiatus

Ah, that's a shame. In any case, I'm really curious to see what happens when you go back to making games; and I guess this is a good time to play the demo to see what might have been.

This game is a mess and I hate it

Hey Erilix, some thoughts:

It would be a shame to see you abandon the game. I could see a condensed version being a good idea, but I suspect (especially considering the work you did with Dhux Scar) that it's interesting and maybe remarkable despite whatever flaws it might have. I think feelings like this tend to be part of the creative process; once the spark of the initial idea and momentum fades and things start to be "work", it's easy to have periods where you feel really badly about things. But for the players it's all new.

Also, I'm not sure if the pornography element necessarily devalues the "serious" element at all. (There's a long tradition of pornography in literature, for example.) It does narrow the audience since some people might be offended, but potentially it means crossing this game crosses boundaries and does things that haven't been done in a game before.

Just to finish off, if it's any consolation, I'll definitely buy and review the game whenever it's done. (And Dhux Scar is going to be included in a survey of innovative RPG Maker games I'll be doing at a website called Entropy.)

Blog 21: Early Merry Christmas! (Minor update to Seraphic Blue)

Thanks for the update! Still can't wait. It's been long enough I should probably replay the game whenever it's done--totally worth it--but I'm a little terrified about having to fight those meat eaters (or whatever they were called) again.
