Worst video games you've played this year

That said, there was one boss that I died against in DQ8 because I thought that I was supposed to loose (it was also back-to-back with another boss battle that sapped nearly all my mana).

Is that the boss in the middle of the game that is sort of a climax to the first half and is actually probably the hardest battle you'll ever fight?

But yeah it's so sweet than in DQ8 you don't have to fight both forms of a multi-part boss several times in a row. It seems sometimes like it is designed for you to lose the first time, but since you're already halfway through the battle, you have less to deal with the second time.

What's your opinion on "cliched" games?

I think that when people assign "cliche" to something in a negative connotation, they actually mean "lame."

For instance, typical stuff RMers do to RM games that are lame, are considered cliche. It's all semantics.

I'd play an "A" game with 100% swords, magic, dragons, knights, elves, and saving the princess over a scrub game with "OMG NOT CLICHE"s any day. I don't like seeing "OMG NO ELVES" in things simply because elves are considered cliche. Well, if the elves are implimented well, what's the problem? Maybe elves/dwarves/orcs are cool. Maybe there's a reason so many people use them besides Tolkien. Maybe young men like saving the princess, and using swords to do so.

I thought it was awesome in Morrowind where the dwarves are an ancient secret race and you spend the whole game looking for them and then in an optional area you meet the last surviving dwarf and contrary to your expectations he is like 8 feet tall and morbidly obese and has robot spider legs and is dying of cancer.

How did Pandas suddenly come into the conversation?

Well if you hadn't commented on the issue before checking out the original topic then you would know! One of the rules is that the game must feature a panda as a prominent character or theme.

I think it's because nobody wants to find the keycode to type the special e.

Stop being such a clitch dude >:(

I've always liked Persona 3's system:

Basically you play the role of a normal kid going through school, but at night, a tower appears that only you (and certain chosen others) can go to.

So by day, you're building relationships with others, making friends, which improves your stats.

Then by night, you attempt to climb further and further up the tower, where enemies get progressively harder.

And as the days go by, the environment changes to reflect that. For example, in summer, everyone switches to more casual wear. There were also special events that occurred on set dates, such as festivals, or vacations.

I was so interested in Persona 3 but I can't bring myself to play a turn-based RPG with AI-controlled teammates. It's petty, I know, but I suspect that it's probably game-breaking. Too many awesome games come out these days to take risks with anything you might not like!

What's your opinion on "cliched" games?

I think that a lot of the things homebrew RPG creators do to make their game NOT CLICHE LOL are a lot more cliched than the core concepts of swords and sorcery that they are rallying against. See: unfunny "comedy" game starring Alex.

Also it's pretty crazy how America has taken the French word "cliche" and removed the fancy symbols from it and applied all sorts of English modifiers and such in the last 15 years.

Also it is pronounced "clitch" with a hard "i".

What browser do you use?

Safari is the default browser on OS X, yes.

I disagree because the correct name for the default browser in OS X is LAMO BROWSER FOR EMO KIDS

I've been waiting to see Bush get impeached for years now. I hope that this story finally starts the impeachment process.

Fat chance dude. He lost the first election in the eyes of the American people and lost the second election in the eyes of the law but somehow he is still our president! Scary stuff. I'm just glad that we aren't jailed and executed for pointing it out the way that people in Russia are. I am confused that such a blundering idiot has so much ambition because historically people who steal control of countries are people like Stalin and Putin and Mao and Jong-Il who are calculating, cold masterminds. George Bush does not strike me as calculating, cold, or a mastermind.

I think we need a sticky in this forum linking to beginner tutorials so people can not only make fewer topics for questions that have already been answered (like this one) but more importantly so that they can get their problems solved much more quickly on their own than waiting for someone else.
