Help please

A respawn for your player, like, let's say, Pokémon?
It's easy since it's 2k3 =D.
1. Go to Database, Battle Layout tab.
2. There's something similar to "Random encounter Death Handler".
3. Select the option "Call Common event" and select an empty common event on the box just below it.

Now, go to the Common events tab, and do the event as you wish. It can just say "meh rlz, you..." or teleport you and restore your party to full, and even grab some money from your player. Or what you want.
If you don't restore them to full in THAT event, please make sure they don't have the chance to battle with all dead members. It's just annoying (you can do something like a "Limbo", and when they get to exit, they get restored, or even make a minigame or anything you like).

Iconset for VX

Name it "Iconset" (same goes for TileXX, Title, System, Battlefloor, any other graphic in "System" folder needs to be named properly and "overwrite" the other graphic). The Iconset can be the size you want.
And that just makes me wonder "why TileE isn't unlimited too?".

Different kind of Characters needed.

Paint does it very well ;).

Ok, that's a complicated question. You can start to do some graphical art, like drawing, pixel art, or something.
Or you can Google for some Generator (dunno if there's one for animals, and it depends on what you're looking for also).
You can, still, look for basic animals (tigers, stuff) and make edits to them. The RTP comes with some. There are some more on the net, like in CLOSET page or soemthing.

Anyone one know this?

As Kentona said. Installers are just a little of extra-download. They're not that useful, unless you need to do something else like installing a font or giving your players some spyware =D!

Paying for Patience

Only commenting because I don't really see the point either side is making.
My point is basically summed up as: I don't want to ever be bored while playing video games. Other people have argued that boredom in some cases is an acceptable cost when it results in some other benefit. And I disagree: I don't think boredom is ever acceptable in a game no matter what, even as a punishment for failing. Boredom is one of the worst feelings a game can evoke.

To the first point, one could say things like "let's give the player the choice to skip cutscenes". But it's like you said. Putting a lot of content, and the player will choose which he wants? One could do a little of it, like, the sidequests maybe, or exploration extras ("hidden" stuff, etc). But if the main content itself is going to be "oh, skip it if you want", then WHY is it there? If it's boring as hell, why did you put that effort making it? If the player can be without it, not giving any difference at all... etc etc.

Also I would like to mention something else. It's not about making "fun times" and "slow-boring parts". It's about "the better part" and "the not that better". Why do you want to make a boring filler? If you can, just try to make a connection between one and another scene pleasant. If not, it's same as grinding and 2-step battles. Fillers.

What I say, it's that fillers are annoying.

Renpy

Remember! To get a battle system you don't need to do a sideview or anything. In a visual novel, for instance, you can do the battle using just the text (if you can do some calculations and get some variables, it's all you need). It even makes much more sense.
For the roleplaying itself, you can go by the "make decisions" way.

But yeah, you can still use VX or XP or whatever you can use easier. The easier the best. If you are just looking the best way to prolong the development, then why don't you start programming in assembler?

The last part is the most useless in this reply, but anyway, what I wanted to say after all, was that an RPG is not a Final Fantasy. If you want a VNRPG, you don't have to do a Final Fantasy with VN-like cutscenes. That's after all, just an RPG.

Wish you luck, and go for it,

Magic Particles 2D/3D: Special effects for games

If it can output them to frames into an image file, then it can be used by RPGMaker users.
Overall the examples are very good.

I made idea generators

From time to time there are some unfinished parts, like "it can use and drink potions". And also it generated me a "Cheap Adamantium Armor", which was rare and common at the same time.
For general use it's good, I had even a good time generating some stuff just for fun lol. But with those little stuff fixed, you could use it to generate stuff in a game, let's say, a Diablo-ih game, or even make entire parties generated procedurally (a list of quests, a set of heroes, enemies, a backstory and stuff).

Anyway, it's very interesting,

Help Us Debug The Demo!

I had to use F1 to call up a menu and enable music and sound. Not sure how they were toggled off, but it makes a big difference in my overall appreciation of the game.

...Probably you played another RMXP game and shut off them. The F1 settings are set not for each game, but for each RGSS dll.

Salut =),

Testing - Doing Our Part

I'll be doing some good testing, but after getting some stuff I have between hands done (graphic remaking, specifically, is what I'm by now). I'm a bit delayed with it...
I have a lot of eventing stuff that could be useful to test, or at least I think so. Mostly about behaviour comparisons.

I've not forgotten it,
