Hey, I don't mind the grammar police. Any critique is better than no critique or even better, excessive praise. =) Besides, I will be sending out private builds to those who wish to proof-read or just offer some gameplay tips.

An Ankylosaurus For Us

What is it again? 80R to a $10? Or am I thinking yuan? Regardless, I remember like 1 rand or so bought you like a huge bottle of cola.

R13,43 = $1 ><

Wow, you're still going with Vermillion, AMN? Nice to see you around. ^^

An Ankylosaurus For Us

Sure, why not. Sent a PM and a donation of $10, even though the South African Rand is getting hammered. ><

Because tall sprites need actual counter-tops.

Part of a rather large ( 75x68 ) arena town.

Two Years on, and only 6% complete.

Hey, I was just joking with 'Vulgar City'. XD I suppose I could call it 'The Fight and Punt City' as a nickname lol. Or 'Red Fortune City'.

If I'm only factoring in what I've done for the new version of LoTL, it's at 6% completion. But, considering I still have the old 10-hour version of the game ( yes, I hit that benchmark at one point ) on my HDD, I'm not as delayed as I thought. But the rewrite does change a lot of things, but NPCs thankfully remain the same ( it can be so hard coming up with non-generic NPCs ).

It's the spritework that's actually eating into my development, but it's worth it. I've managed to create a game with its own visual-style ( apart from those FE edits, but I like the art-style. Unless there's an artist that can imitate it >< I can't do it anywhere near the level I want it to be at ).

Taking Leave

I've been very inactive of late, as some of you will have noticed. Between working full-time and having a general lack of enthusiasm for anything RM-related, I've decided to take a bit of break and practice some other hobbies in the meantime to get out of my extremely jaded mentality. I like to call it the 'September Slump' because I experienced a similar thing last year ( a feeling of general uselessness at what I do as well as a 'destructive-mode' mindset ). Also, the Jam was a fiasco on my part, so that's partially why I'm leaving as well.

So maybe taking a break from this hobby will prime me for being more efficient, enthusiastic and eager to finish a game. I may not equal my record of finishing 3 games in one year anytime soon, but I do hope to finish my magnum opus within a year. Or two. Or ten.

Unlike when leaving RMW, I will be back.

An update for AW...? What could it mean?

The game certainly is marketable enough, I'm thinking. And I would have had enough experience under my belt, unlike those steaming piles of turds on Steam that screams 'my first RPGMaker game'. Maybe I'll expand the towns to something like this

rather than leaving them as 'hub areas' with little to no NPCs. The pixel art style is also less simplified than Tristian's ( which is quite detailed with lots of organic shapes; AW's style is more simplified, with the exception of natural objects like trees ). Though I am happy with the way that palm tree came out.

But I first need to pull myself out of development hell with Tristian before my first commercial game even becomes a reality.

Pom gets wi-fi is no longer on Buzzing games, I don't know what's normal anymore.

That's actually a good idea. But the horror when Pom and DM do return...
