Release Something Weekend
author=mawk
Releasing a poorly-functioning game is hardly a mark of shame when it's clearly a work in progress. This entire event is done with the understanding that most of the people involved in it will be showing off unfinished work -- and personally? I love to see the guts of how something works, and watch it develop from there.
Like, really now. I know things might not necessarily be in the shape they're in if you had had more time. I trust you! But the whole point of this event is to take a weekend and show off what everyone involved in is working at, and how far they've come at that specific point in time.
I think the team mechanic might be confusing people into thinking this is one of those contests where you start working on something as soon as you sign up and have to have it finished for the deadline. This is not the case! (Thankfully, as exams have made me into a skeleton and I am way behind on my big and amazing plans.)
It's just that, I feel like if I give people something that isn't good to begin with, people will react the same way they did to Fire Woman, and even if it's a WIP, it could ruin me. I'm planning on releasing a demo, and if it's not up to par with what I WANT to release, people will be disappointed, and most likely won't care when the actual finished product comes out, if it comes out.
[RMVX] Tracer Script Crash
Update: It's apparently also effecting the intro scene where the character wakes up. But there are only 3 scripts that could be doing this. There is a menu system, a push/pull events system, and then the tracer system here. I've got a feeling it's either the menu system or the tracer system, since the push/pull events system shouldn't really be effected like this anyway. *sigh* This is really get annoying.

The tile between the hero and the innkeeper needs to be set to "counter" in the tilesets tab of the database.
I'll tell my dad about this and see if it works.
[RMVX] Tracer Script Crash

The script is trying to add something to something else where no "+" method has been defined for it; what exactly is happening when it crashes?
Well, I started the game up. The title menu started, I chose to load a save, and when it loads that crash occurred.
[RMVX] Tracer Script Crash

This keeps happening to me whenever I open the game. Maybe it deals with me opening a save, or the amount of scripts I have for added content, meant to be fun. But my main issue is that with the game, having alot of guards and such, I found this script and felt it was perfect for what I was trying to do!
Then I realized this major issue.
The script is suppose to make any event with the word "tracer" in it's name, act like a guard. It uses a sound and sight system where if you make a loud enough sound, or get in sight of the guard, you will be caught. I had already started making the game at this time, and I guess I kind of got far. Most likely far enough to make a demo. But still, it seemed good to add some things to make the game a bit more gameplay based instead of...well...shit.
It was actually story based, and the only script I had was a confusion walk script. Then I started adding more so my game would stick out from the rest, since, so far, it used RTP monster and character sprites, along with MACK tilesets. So yes, I am not thinking of replacing the characters. Maybe the monsters. But not the characters.
Well, back to the point...there isn't much else to say. It just keeps crashing...so yeah.

Halibabica, you reading this? DO IT.
Also to note:
@Halibabica
Thank you for answering my last questions. :3 I forgot the SMB3 things were just placeholders for now. :3

Haven't used xp but you can set up the table that allows events on the other side to occur (counter settings) can be changed in the database. Sorry, can't help with the crash and all.
I guess thank you SaitenHazard. :/ I'll see if that helps.

[RMXP] Conditional Branches
So my Dad is working on RPG maker XP again, and worked on it before, for quite some time. I taught him how to use switches, and about alot of things that I knew. He's working on what I'm guessing to be an Ultima/Dungeons and Dragons type game, and he wanted to make an Inn. Well, if you look at the title you may be able to tell the issue.
When I saw what he was doing, I was confused. He seemed to be trying to get the Inn Keeper to check if you have 10 gold. There was an NPC behind the table sprite, and on the sprite of the table itself, there was an event to be the Inn Keeper itself, just talking. I'm not sure, but I guess the table isn't on of those sprites that can allow you to talk to NPCs while the NPC is behind it.
To get to the point, every time he makes the command for Conditional Branch, it doesn't appear. Then when he clicks where it was SUPPOSE to appear, the program crashes. This is very annoying, and I want him to have fun retrying RPG maker. While it can be tedious, guess you got a think of it as making your own world, one that doesn't screw itself over in the process in making it.
In other words, this crash is the computer playing God, and Dad is God. We need help.

Super RMN World
With the Nightmare Universe I believe there is NOTHING to carry into pipes, so there is no worry there anyway.
With Oil Oasis I believe when I started that stage I cared about the rules, so I believe it does have pipes that allow you to bring items through a pipe.
By the way, while it's Super Mario World, and I know we touched on this when the event started, I don't get why we need Dragon Coins, it seems like you forced it onto us. For instance on the SMBX forums levels I make normally don't use these coins. But because of it being Super Mario World we HAVE to use the coins? :(
Also, what's with this whole thing about the pipes anyway! I know it's too late to complain, but come on guys, I don't think 1 pipe, not even 1, had this feature in Super Mario World. If they did, they didn't use it on every pipe in the game. So this all comes down to the last issue, with the SMB3 background, and using a start along with it, I feel there is an issue to be found...it's Super Mario World. Not Super Mario Brothers 3. We should of thought of that when you guys were apparently making the abominations Super RMN Brothers 1-3
*sigh* What's the next one after this again? Yoshi's Island or something? Maybe it's...I don't know, I think you said Sunshine or something like that?
