Ooh, that looks nice. I just hope the art style of these tiles won't clash with the rest of the game. (Unless you built one complete and seperate world out of them?)

P.S.: The light reflection on the floor does not at all match the window through which the light appears to be coming.)

I keep custom tilesets within their own chapter, so the tone stays consistent throughout each world.

Thanks for the pickup on the window, I'll get to fixing that.

MotW: In-Depth Playthrough

author=Volrath
I've been thinking about MotW recently and wondering if I should start a Let's Play of it soon with commentary (like what I did with Clean Slate). I think enough time has passed that it would feel fresh. Anyone interested in that?
Yes Please! I pretty much binge watched your entire Clean Slate let's play and it was highly entertaining. Not just because I thought the story for CS itself was good, but all the comments you made to links with MOTW, comparisons to your real life, and explanations to obscured jokes were very interesting. I would love to see MOTW get the same treatment, maybe I'll follow the uploads this time.

author=Volrath
I thought of it because Clean Slate was done during 2012 amidst a US presidential election and I think was a little better for it. Now we're in the middle of the most off-the-wall ridiculous election in my lifetime, seems like it could be interested to look at MotW again.
This would be my first presidential election I'm old enough to vote in. Considering that I had an idea who I would vote for the past 3 elections, I have to say I'm disappointed this is my first. Off the walls indeed. :P

To respond to your points.

-kazuki said "thank the goddess"? a dark lord believes in goddesses?
he killed one XD

Are you talking about Clara? She was an angel, not a deity.

-the criticism of the blond girls work is really poor. their points are invalid. (in the sick girls room)

I'm not good with making criticisms myself. ;_; I guess it shows. The fact the book was criticised is what was important anyways.

-its hard to say what the Japanese stance on religion is. at new year they go to temples to pray.
and believe in multiple gods outside that as far as i understand money is god in their culture.

I don't know why this was brought up.
But Takeura is not Japan, it's an alternate world with borrowed culture.

-i like the goddess introductions!

Thanks. :D

-:O minori it hurt! someone will pay! in! blood!

Good thing I made sure you got to do that.

-kazukis not human?! 82 years old!?
hmm oh right there was something about them being different forgot since not playing it together

His age is also in the status screen since chapter 4.
The fact he's not humans plays more importance later on.

-yay! we can use a boat and sail! :D

It's like Wind Waker! :D
Except... there are only four islands...

-the lava going thru the door as you open them was a cool idea

Thanks, but I'm starting to run out of dungeon ideas...

-You can skip talking to the doctor that is taking care of minori and go strait to the earth shrine.
need to add a trigger to stop this.as that scene explains why you go there

Another bug... I'll get to that.

-i can even pretend to understand suphis...he is way too obsessed with his father...especially considering they together for a long time...and somehow he still has a unrealistically strong bond simply because he is his father?

The typos made this hard to understand when I first read this, and I admit I probably made him too depressed at points, but here's my take of it.

It's true that Suphis was never extremely close to his father by any means. However, he does have great respect for him, as he chose to follow his father's profession (music) despite the fact it's not a profitable job in his world.

The main reason Suphis joined Kazuki to begin with was because he wanted to have worth in his life, and helping people (or killing dark lords) is the first (and probably only) opportunity presented to him in the small world of Sineba.

The Joke/Deconstruction/Whatevs of Suphis was to play the part of the typical JRPG Hero that does good for the sake of doing good. While he does have suspicions of his father's existence being in another dimension, he doesn't have an actual motivation to risk his life for people his doesn't really know... and he's well aware of that.

Where I'm getting at with this is that the 'Doing good for the sake of doing good' trope backfired on him. He's told that his father is a Dark Lord, something he has to help kill. Even if he refuses, he knows all too well that Kazuki would still put his desire of World Domination and kill the Dark Lord without him.

I suck at explaining things, but I didn't want to be too specific on why Suphis is depressed, but I can say it has more to do with it than just killing his father.

For example, here are a few things that might of gone through his mind:
-If I didn't join Kazuki, would he make it as far to kill my father?
-Even though I'm doing this with the best intentions, can I harm someone else by progressing since I'm ultimately un-involved?
-I'm not getting anything out of this. Is it worth the price to keep going?
-Will I kill someone else even closer to me if I continue?

I might of not fully justified Suphis, but that was my goal with his character. When Ilva brings up the bit about an existing Afterlife, it gives Suphis hope that any mistakes he'll make later on can still be fixed.

-I don't get the purpose of suphis wind magic puzzle. what is the reason he cant just directly hit the blocks with his magic for them to activate?

I... don't have an answer for that, I guess I'll write up a quick excuse.
For now, go with this logic. i.imgur.com/bJP3o3i.png

-i don't understand the line that goes something like...
"if you cant defeat kamlyn you cant accept reality"
which happens shortly before fighting him

Good thing there's only two more chapters left for me to answer this.

-meds a cruel goddess...shes way more evil then kazuki is o.o

Med's the best.

-The dark drown skill does not say kazuki+med

The limitations of the game's resolution are really starting to show...

Hey seacliff. I've been keeping an eye on this game for a good while now, and just now I decided it's about time to finally download and play it. My original plan was to wait for the full completed version, but I figured this way I can maybe help development along a bit by giving feedback and testing for bugs as I go. So, let's give this a try.

Awesome! I hope you enjoy it!
Obviously, this game is nowhere near it's most polished state yet (typos and such), but I'm happy to receive any feedback, Positive or Negative. That said, if the game feels clunky to you even later on, then I won't be offended if you decide to wait until I finish. Excited to hear your thought either way.

Phew, finally done up to Chapter 6.

It's really starting to get down to the climax. I'm kinda curious about how this will all end.

I found several bugs and giving them in detail would be too much. Do you want me to send you a PM about it? It's not just this chapter but some previous worlds as well, especially Takeura.

Yeah, any bug reports would be appreciated. A PM on this would be fine.

Flip Dimensions

Alright, I made another update, for anyone who wasn't scared away even after too bugged versions, please give it a try?

Hello. I'm trying to replay Chapter 6 from scratch, but I ran into a problem after battle.

The battle goes normally, but after I get a victory, this error pops in:

Script 'CP's Battle Engine v1.2b' line 2164: NoMethodError occurred.
undefined method 'each' for nil:NilClass.

Maybe changing the battle from the new version to the old version has something to do with it?

Nah, that was me rushing. I think I accidentally placed the script in the wrong spot.
I'm gonna give this one more try tonight...

Hi! I'm glad you got a new chapter up and I'm trying to play through Chapter 6, but I keep getting bugs like this:

The battle, for some reason, would simply freeze. The music would keep playing but I can't make any selections and the battle won't continue. It seems to be random, however as I got the bugs when:

1. A party member got poisoned.
2. An ally/enemy gets defeated.

It doesn't happen all the time, but merely by chance, and I've been trying to find the cause of it. I got it several times when battling in the island so that may help.

Another big bug I found was a storyline one. After the boss battle, when you touch down in port, Med will keep saying "Kazuki doesn't need to go this way" causing Kazuki to take a step back. Problem is that it's stuck in a loop, with Med saying the same thing and Kazuki moving back again, making him go back and forth in the same spot, rendering the game unable to continue. Is there any way to fix this?
I was recently made aware of this, by the end of today I'll revert the game back to the original battle system and upload it (would've been last night, but I was too tired after work). Thanks for bringing it up here anyways.

As for the port, could you give a quick description what tile you touched and which way you were facing?

2015 "Official" Misao Predictions/Discussion Thread

Dang, has another year really gone by? I never really sat down and played an RPG Maker game since 2013. (Maybe a few IGMC entries, but I don't recall finishing any of them). I feel kinda bad now.

Touhou - Wandering Souls

Hi umm i wanted to ask something not sure if anyone will nknow but i know nothing of Touhou and i mean NOTHING can i still play this game and have fun or will the plotline make my head explode :)

The game isn't plot driven, I think in terms of gameplay alone it should still hold up.
