You all are too kind ;__;

I miss the highs and lows of game development

I can only imagine the kind of pressure & responsibility that comes with a family - especially children. Even just having a full-time career has taken up so much time, and it's hard to muster the energy to make games when I get home; coming home from a programming job to program more is tiring!

I've gotten to noodle around with GameMaker the past couple days though, and I'm still doing ridiculous stuff like cosplay and running D&D when I can. I've been slowly working hard to get to the point where I can take some time off to work on games, and see what I can get done. I'm pretty lucky to have a job and few enough expenses that I can get away with that, though, and it def involves a few sacrifices - not to mention being a bit scary & risky.

At the very least, game dev doesn't require you to be young & fit, so we can make games until we're dead!~

Whenever I post a screenshot the only thing I really truly WANT to get feedback on is my fucking DIALOGUE.

I feel like you're ranting to the wind here.

Posting a script is definitely the way to get people to look at your dialogue. You could also list the screenshot in the "looking for feedback" section and leave a comment like "Looking for advice on dialogue." Honestly, keep in mind that "looking-for-feedback" posts should probably be kept pretty separate from self-promotional ones.

Censorship and Security Paradoxes

That is almost certainly true but is also too metaphysical and vague to respond to properly.

In this specific situation, I think these companies are right to restrict Alex Jones' because otherwise they are responsible for helping promote him. I do think that a few powerful companies like this wield way too much power and control over what we see and hear, but I don't think we can pretend that doing nothing and taking no responsibility in these situations while also profiting off it is somehow the higher ground.

With regards to hate speech - hate speech abuses the notion of "free speech" to actively impede the freedoms of others, by encouraging people to mistreat the marginalized and remove their freedoms.
