Time to start commenting on everything. It's the only way I can beat the mafia crowd...

But it's really cool to see that BOSSGAME was so popular last month. I wanna keep it up! I should make some more goofy blogs :D

CHARACTER AND COSTUME DESIGN IS FACKING HARDDD GAAAAH

author=Sooz
...perhaps I should start a topic on this in CC. :I

Ahh, that'd be cool!

I'm not really a design whiz, but... for the most part I just try to match outfits to a character's personality. I design mostly based off modern fashion, so it's not too too complicated. I started following a couple fashion accounts on Twitter, and I save all the best outfits I see in case I need some ideas later!

Making preparations to remake a never-finished project I started as a starry-eyed teen.

UNITY TAKE A NAP!!

( keep on killin' it, unity :D )

I really like her outfit! I kind of dig really ornamental drapey sleeves, and the eye patterns are excellently disconcerting~ The sprite looks fantastic, too!

Can someone please teach me how to be passionate about my day job? I'm surrounded by passionate people and think I'm losing it

My co-workers are about 50/50 - half are really into programming and the company, and the other half view it as just another job - we work, we get paid. I'm in the latter. I like the place I work and I trust them, but I'm not so loyal that I'd turn down other opportunities that were better for me personally. The tech industry loves passionate people because they work hard and improve their skills even off the clock, but I think it's okay to just be there for the money, too.

If you're like me, you're working towards a goal - I'm working here until I at least get my student loans paid off, and otherwise I live on the cheap (except for a few nice clothes and take-out, hah). I plan to eventually move on and look for something that makes me happy, or to work for myself - either making games or going back to contract work - when debt is less of an issue. That kind of thing keeps me going at my job now. It helps that I do like my job. I enjoy writing code way more than working at McDonald's (and screw people who think service workers don't deserve more money - working at McD's was entirely more difficult and stressful).

Anyway, find something to work towards. It's not easy to just switch jobs until you find one you like, but set yourself a goal and make room so that you can afford to look around a bit, if you can. Feeling trapped sucks. Waking up and dreading leaving for work sucks. Not everyone can avoid it, but if you can, do your best to!

Is it just me, or do rainy days make you tired, and sleepy too?

I love rainy days because they feel very relaxing, and it feels good to sit inside and work or relax to the rain... and I like the smell, a lot. But I could see how they would feel tiring, for sure.

Post a really nice compliment for the person above you

You have good critiques and are great at spotting interesting things about people's work!

Today I got to add a record scratch to a cutscene! Woo!

Yea, for sure :) Video games are one of the mediums that can hit a lot of the senses at once, so it's good to take advantage of it! And nothing sets the tone and emotion of a scene like sound and music.

Dare I take the plunge and get a Twitter account?

author=Red_Nova
I think so. It's like your own personal What are you Thinking About thread, and you can spam it as much or as little as you want. to expose your games. The reverse is also true. Hell, I follow Slash and he's retweeted a few interesting RM related accounts and articles that I wouldn't have found otherwise.

Awww, thanks ////

Wait, what? You follow me?? I didn't even realize :P

But yea, unity, the nice thing about Twitter is you can use it as much or as little as you please, and you don't have to put anything out there that you don't wanna. I use mine as a way to talk about what I'm working on, as well as to just annoy my adoring fans with annoying excerpts from my life~

Today I got to add a record scratch to a cutscene! Woo!

MAYBE yup yup :D

It was too perfect, I realized as I was playing through the scene that like, I needed a quick cut and I might as well just go full ham XD

Dare I take the plunge and get a Twitter account?

YES YAY!!

Twitter is so much fun and you can find out and keep track of all sorts of cool game and world news and you can also listen to me and lots of RMN friends ramble XD

Plus, it's one of the better ways to promote and talk about the things you're working on! Lots of gamedev stuff happens on Twitter.

...also, it's good for goofing off...
