Booble's art stuff

Awesome as always.

You're really good at drawing hair. I wonder if it's one of those things girls just tend to draw better since they're more familiar with it. Hair, and certain kinds of clothing I always struggle with - and I'd never be able to do a hairstyle like that without really heavy reference.

Anyway, I gave it a splash of color because I didn't get that you were joking. =P

KCA Fanart

One of the Google Summer of Code projects for Blender this year is polishing up some of it's sculpting tools. So since this thread was bumped and I'm playing with the latest Blender builds I whipped this up. I need to sculpt the claws still, and obviously texture. Looks like I forgot to turn the monocle on before rendering. =/

The Dreaded P Word

You guys got a link to this tree you're talking about? I'd like to see what kind of tree it takes for someone to feel it's worth being butthurt over. =P

I don't pixel-art much so my stuff is unlikely to be of much use around here. However, anything of mine I post is free to use without permission however you want. It's more in my interests that it gets spread as it increases awareness of me (so I get more art gigs). If I don't want people to use something I just don't post it anywhere (client work mostly).

EVIL

Labeling someone as evil so you can conveniently kill them without recourse is called dehumanizing the victim. Murder is intentionally killing another person, with an exception for self-defense cases.

Writing.... on paper

I plan, but all digital rather than on paper. I lose paper too easily.

Some programs I'll use if anyone is interested:
Xmind - for brainstorming. Handy for game/puzzle flow and piecing together a plot sometimes.
Dia - for UML diagramming if needed.
Open Office - any document related stuff I need.
Celtx - is mainly a scriptwriting app but does a lot of other useful things.
MyPaint - Maps, concepts, whatever. Any drawing app with a tablet would work. I dig Mypaint because it has an infinite canvas, and you can set the background to grids, storyboard panels, and you can just hit F2 to save scraps. It's still too lightweight for me to replace Photoshop with it, but it's awesome for quick ideas/sketches.

These are by no means the best options. I use Linux/Windows both, so most of these I use for compatibility reasons. There are probably better Windows apps in some cases.

2D RPGs with a good city design?

Earthbound. Pretty simple graphically, but you definitely don't mistake it's setting for 14th Century France.

Don't get caught up trying to lay it out like a real city, rather than trying to get the atmosphere correct. If you have the concrete sidewalks, cars, street lights, ATMs, and all that sort of stuff, it'll feel correct even if all the houses facing south in the real world would be very bizarre. Remember that it's a game, not Google Maps.

Finished and sent to Anaryu.

I think... I will let people do 2 pages MAX. Please inform me if you want a second slot somewhere.

If people want to go again I think a better idea would be getting an entirely separate comic going side-by-side with this one. Would help reduce the long wait times to participate a bit, rather than add to it.
