tpasmall's workshop

Ok, so basically I dabble in the editing arts. I've got some stuff some people might find useful so I'll put it all here! Credit the original authors if you want to use them, I'm not worried about credit for my edits. If I make something original that I want credit for, I'll post that but I doubt it will happen.

Battlers: (Based on Thalzon's work)

Sprites/Facesets:

Adelaide:

The faceset was made in Celianna's faceset generator and edited to fit the sprite. The sprite is from Famitsu's Generator and is provided only as a match to the faceset. The sleeping sprite works as an event. (Currently unanimated)
Credit: Celianna (face base) and Famitsu (spritebase)

Emerald:

The faceset was made in Celianna's generator and edited in photoshop. The charset is an edit and recolor of a Momope sprite.

Faeroe:

The faceset was recolored and made in photoshop. The charset and poses are franken/recolors of a couple enterbrain sprites. Laughing is pose is my own.

Torran:

A franken/edit of Climhazzard's Scorpion charset.
Credit: Climhazzard (spritebase)

Pirate Recolors:

One of the pirates was done in the Famitsu generator, the rest were edited in photoshop. The pirate with the orange bandana is an animated sprite that floats. (Only tested with RTP light river tile).
Credit: Famitsu and Enterbrain

Misc. Poses:

Aindra's fishing pole attached to one of Avadan's characters(top character, the rest are RTP edits). I added a fishing line and some animation to make it look like the pole is bobbing up and down.

All the graphics are from the RTP, animation is my own.

Talking RTP characters!

RMNv4 Feedback

author=kentona
So I was working a bit on a revamp of the frontpage layout, based on the feedback I read and received.

I like it!

RIP Steve Jobs

Regardless of who you are, the mere fact that you're posting on this forum, Steve Jobs has in some way impacted your life. I was never really a fan of Apple but the documentary Welcome to Macintosh really gave me a lot of respect for this guy. The IT world is definitely at a loss without him.

Basic Titlescreen and Font changes in RMVX

author=Foofy
How do I change the words in the menu? I've been trying to figure this out for hours.

Couple months late on this, but go to terms in the database, its not something thats scripted.

Resource Museum

I didn't want to necropost, so I figured I'd start a new topic on it, the resource museum is great and all, but it's hard to navigate. Would it be possible to have seperate forums for different resources or even just seperate posts for them? They might get more use if they were easier to navigate.

Diet!

I have pancreatitis so I'm on a pretty strict diet. I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast, plain turkey sandwich for lunch with fruit, and chicken or steak with vegetables for dinner. No acidic, spicy or fatty foods and no alcohol or carbonated drinks.

Snacks are usually craisins or animal crackers.

How hipster are you?

I knew Dinsoaur Jr. and Deas Vail, even though the quiz spelled that bands name wrong. (They are actually pretty decent, saw them at Copeland's last show).

World Maps

author=Ocean
However, if they are a bunch of walking with random encounters where the goal is "find the next area" in a huge open field, then I just get bored. Especially if they look like this:

With just grass, forest tile, mountains, water, and random encounters all over. Seeing the actual places is far preferable because there's actual variety and each place will more or less have its own look.

I feel similar to what you said, but posting a picture of the FF9 world map seems pretty wrong to me. That game did the world map a ton of justice. The Chocograph quest, the floating island, the way different continents looked and were laid out, I felt that game did an amazing job. The only part I'll agree with is that the random encounters seemed to be too much. But still, they even had events built in to the random encounters so even that's not all that bad.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

That's the way games seem to be made now. Now that you can just download updates, you can just have the people buying the game be your game testers and fix the bugs they find instead of paying someone to do it. Updates are nice in some respects, but it seems like manufacturers just don't care to put a perfect product on the shelf anymore.
