Questions you always wanted to ask other members, but felt too lazy or awkward to do so.
I'm 20 and I look like I am 14.
What are you working on now?
figuring out how I can visually represent "take this area of map tiles and automatically generate normals for them that will give the effect of this arbitrary 3D shape when lit" without it looking too confusing to the user so they can make things like large columns and other non-planar structures without entering each tile vertex normal manually and shooting themselves in the face from the tedium and frustration that would inevitably ensue.
Since it's a 2D game with a non-rotating camera I'm thinking I'll probably just show them a heightmap they can edit with a few simple tools and then use that to compute the normals and map them to the selected tiles. I'm thinking it will suck to make.

Research in games.
I've always enjoyed reading a bit about electronics, chemistry, and other applied sciences, but lately I have stepped it up a ton in order to make the crafting recipes in my game more varied and give them at least some basis in reality. It's had a bunch of other benefits for the game too, giving me a better idea of the game world's economy, possible technology, and design of buildings/machines based on what resources would be available in certain areas.

I'm also a tall skinny guy with a nuclear powered metabolism. Speaking from experience, you can be eating a ton and still not be eating enough. It took me eating meal-sized portions of high calorie foods about every 2-3 hours (often breaking 5,000 in a day) PLUS a weight training regimen to crack my usual weight of 175 lbs.
The good news is that because you have a high metabolism and a handy built-in mechanism for disposing of excess fats and crap you can work dense, high calorie foods like fast food cheeseburgers into a weight gaining diet, and in fact it is advantageous to do so once in a while as long as you're meeting all your other nutritional requirements (i.e. eating Wendy's Baconators twice a day is still a terrible idea but you can get a nice convenient shot of bulking goodies from one once in a while).
Actually don't take it from me, take it from this guy. He sums up pretty much everything I'm driving at, only better because he's actually an expert.

How did you find rpgmaker.net and why did you stick around?
I wanted to join a little game making community to chat up others and look at their projects while working on my own game because it's a great motivational tool for me. I know zero about RM but most of the more general game dev sites are either full of vaporware or just not what I was looking for. I had stumbled across GW but didn't really feel like signing up there because it was a little too "Dark Chronicles of BlackDoom starring Wrath McHeartstab" for my taste. Fortunately from GW I found a link here.
I stuck around because with very few exceptions you guys are a cool bunch and even just dicking around in IRC while I work on my personal project really helps me stay on task :p it was nice to see that I'm not the only Pixelation refugee here too. If RMN's good enough for the likes of Ness and Sovan then it's good enough for me.

I have one with a hat attached. The hat is a penguin head, two corners have orange flippers and the lower-middle back has a tail.
I used to think Snuggies were a little stupid until I read this; thanks to Craze I now realize that they can be awesome.
