BEEN awhile haha, what’s up?

Making a Johnny Johnny Yes Papa animation instead of the game im supposed to be making. Sup with joo?

I honestly don't know if getting all of these games to Proof of Concept status and then shelving them to work on my main is a sound strategy, or if I'm just addicted to starting new projects. 50/50.

Thats what game jams are for I suppose. Like I did with Hazmat in the past, if I make more proof of concept game mechanics I will probably write a tiny little narrative to go with it to make it something I can release for free to draw interest to my main projects.

I just saw an rpgmaker game where you start out with rpg cliches and a harem anime plot, but there's a secret love interest whose route leads to an ending that expands into a horror rpg.

Great thread title.

10/10

Nothing quite turns the gut like making assets the player will see for all of three seconds.

Videogames, am I rite?

A CHALLENGE FOR THE NEW YEAR: Make a game sometime this year where an alpaca is prominently featured. Do it. Doooo iiiiiiit! You'll get an alpaca badge!

I forgot to post in here that there is an alpaca NPC in the Shooty and the Catfish demo. Seeing as the full game will be commercial and not uploaded to the site I guess the one in the demo is as close as I will be getting this year.

A bunch of RPG Maker engines and games are on sale in the Humble Store: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/degica-sale/?hmb_source=store_home

I guess this would be a good time to buy RPG Maker 2000. Always been curious to try it out.

Does anyone play rpgmaker games?

The engine is the last thing I think about when i'm looking at playing a game. As long as a game looks interesting to me then ill happily give it a go. I will say I am more likely to play an RPG Maker game on Steam then I am on here. Not so much because I think its a better place for them, its full of garbage, but with its larger user base it seems easier to get the gist of if I will like something or not based on the comments (which are also generally full of garbage sadly).

Is creativity a resource you spend on project or do you have to work on something to generate creativity?

I guess i'm one of those people who is just always creating stuff, either for my job or for my own projects. I cant imagine ever having it feel like a resource. I get depressed when I don't have enough time to be creative.
For me, if I spend too much time on creating (especially marathoning one thing)I get hella burnt out and need to spend a while just consuming entertainment instead. It's annoying.

I move between illustration, animation, film making and game development, if I get burnt out on one I usually just work on one of the others.

I actually have no idea how to make a video game.
