Blacksword Chronicles

@Firefly84, Thank you so much for liking our story! To be fair, I cannot upload an updated version for everyone during the contest period, as people are supposed to play the official version until the contest ends in October. However, I have PM you a NO TIMER version. In this version, in the Swordsman (EASY) mode, there is an additional option to shut off the Timer permanently in the game. You can only choose to do this in the beginning of the game.

This means you can't really vote for us as you are playing an updated version. But that's fine. I just hope you have a good time and support us in the future!

In-depth Deus Cards discussion

Oh. Someone remembers this game! A ridiculously well evented game? Thank you for the compliment.

Well, I wrote it practically a decade ago, so even I do not remember it that well even though I am the author. I think the strategy mainly comes down to the Deus and Avatar you use. For example if you use Gus then it's mostly Power and Mani cards, and Form cards work much better with Misa.

I have always wanted to do a remake of this game sometime. A complete overhaul of the game with the same base concepts. Also I always wanted to complete Gus and Jacob's story into the World Championships. Perhaps when MV comes out?

Resonate ~i goddamn uploaded downloads with the starting position on the wrong map~

Hey dude, relax. Everything's working fine on my end (at least for the first few minutes.) The game looks really beautiful and detailed from the get go, will surely play more of this. I did my all nighter two days ago so totally know what you're going through. This contest was definitely hard so Congratulations on finishing!

Get some sleep. :)

Free mobile RPG for testers!

<Commercial games are not allowed> rule, uh I understand this applies to the game forum and not this one? Anyway, we're just looking for beta testers and testers get to play for free.

I'm a huge RPG Maker fan turned iOS developer. I must say a lot of what you learn in RPG Maker can be applied to development in other languages. So RPG Maker's are great!

A couple of friends and I recently finished a classic "4 heroes save world" RPG for the iPhone or iPad, which is like a short version of Final Fantasy. I am just talking about the play style, it has nothing to do storywise with the Final Fantasy universe.

It's called Tales of Sorceria: The Mad Doctor, and info about it can be found here:

http://wmrpg.weebly.com/sorceria.html

You will notice the familiar chipsets and yup, you guessed it they are done by the famous RPG Maker artist Richard Janes, AKA Inquisitor from RPG Palace. The game should be approved by Apple within a week if everything goes well. We are looking for testers. All you have to do is beat the game (est. 10-15 hours), answer a few questions on our questionnaire, and give us some suggestions. We give you a promo code so you can download the game for free. We only have about 20 codes so please don't apply if you're not really gonna go through with it.

If interested please leave post here or better yet send a mail to wmrpg.cs@gmail.com and you're all set!

RPG App?

I think you've got a great idea! Perhaps you can make it sort of like Dragon Warrior 4 from back in the day: i.e. each of your Free apps is a short rpg centering on one of your team members. And your fifth paying app is one where you tie all 4 heroes together for a grand adventure. It's best if you can import your characters from your free games too.

I myself switched successfully from a long time RPG Maker fan to a mobile developer. A couple of friends and I released our first game for the iOS half a year ago, which you can find here:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sagas-rpg-boardgame-name-generator/id480496327?mt=8

It's called Sagas: RPG Boardgame & Name Generator. Honestly, it's not stupendously awesome, but hey it's a start. I also just submitted our first full scale iPhone RPG called Tales of Sorceria. It's a little closer to stupendously awesome. If things go well, it should go on sale in a week.

Mail me if you own an iOS device and would like a promo code (allows you to play the game for free) for either of our games.

I used the iTorque2D engine to build my games. You can try it out. The engine has its shining moments. For example it takes care of basic collisions for you. HOWEVER, I must say this engine has its faults and bugs. Also, it only works for iOS currently.

If I could do it over again, I would probably go with HTML5/jQuery or Flash. Flash is doing good mobile these days and CS6 looks pretty good. Plus, both of these can do both iOS or Android.

Good luck!
