Description

Welcome one and all to the first TimTam Game Slam! This event is basically about teaming up with other people to create games within a set time, based around a theme. It also comes with a prize - a packet of TimTams sent to your door!

What are TimTams? Why, only the best chocolate biscuit in the world! Well, okay, maybe not the absolute best, but they're freakin' amazing and I swear by them. They come in a variety of flavours and they taste so good you won't want to share them - which is great since they come in a pack of 11, making them impossible to divide evenly with your friends.

They're also Australian and I swear by them. Yeah boi~<3

RULES

- Teams of three people, no more, no less.
- Any engine as long as the games are playable without.
- This is a competition, as such all games will be judged!
- Each game needs to be over 10 minutes long at least.
- No dumb-ass joke games. The game needs to be of a reasonable quality to count.
- The game needs to stick to one of the themes and be recognisably based on that theme.
- Gamepage required.

EVENT STARTS: 23rd of February
EVENT ENDS: 31st of March

Theme: ART

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

+Any resources are fine, but keep in mind that people might stream or LP your games, so attempt to use non-copyrighted music where possible. The Emperor's March might be cool as balls, but it tends to get videos taken down no matter if it's a remix or midi version. There's a ton of free-to-use music out there if you look around, and even youtube has a bunch of channels dedicated to sharing such.

+ You can use resources from old projects, but the actual body of work needs to be new (this means maps and database stuff).

+ If you win and don't like biscuits or chocolate or the like, let me know and we can work out another Aussie snack as a prize instead.

+ Gamepage needs to be accepted to the site before you can even add your entry to the event page, so remember to get them in reasonably early!

+ Liberty is judging you. Hi~ o/

PRIZES

Contributors - A 20MS badge for taking part, providing the game/demo is over 10 minutes long and of reasonable quality.

Winners - A 75MS badge for each of the winning team and a packet of TimTams sent to your door (you can choose from a variety of flavours).

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

I mean dev in general (and teamwork in general) is a pile of pain and frustration and wondering whether it'd be a better idea to go live alone in the woods and be one with nature, so it's no surprise some arglebargle happens.

I'll DEF and SHAMELESSLY throw any shade I want at someone for throwing such a tantrum and acting like el generalissimo in a team event, thanks XD A least I am somewhat self-aware.
Tho I don't see how my legit mistaking the link has to do with your case but sure :V I'm not gonna deny it was my mistake *shrug*

Changing subject, I'm somewhat happy our game got a better reception than I was expecting, considering I was so burned out and had to cut out so, SO much. Mad props to Fomar0153 who in the last two-ish days when I was in a "fuck all of this" picked up and carried the last bits to the end o/ I was honestly expecting a much more "meh" reception so it's nice to know we still got the touch to some degree XD

I mean, the post-event drama is something I didn't expect but I'd say the event still went well. I'm also glad that all of you are keeping it rather civil so far and are not going out of your way to yell obscenities at each other.

I mean we hadn't had any real meltdowns in a bit, it was about time... :V

I agree, it had to come eventually.

This! I'm not a very good team person but I do want to get better at it and that's why events like these are always a good motivation to team up with people and get some gam mak on, even if it leads to some unsavoury arguments and meltdowns. As long as we can get ourselves back up, it's worth it in my opinion.

I say "I mean" way too much.

I am aware of this, but I still do it. :I

More is being said on Discord, honestly. If you want a play-by-play, you'd better join in there.

hey what happened to the biscuit event
i fell asleep and can't remember the past month
So... who's excited to see the results soon?
I can practically taste those tim-tams at this point!

Edit: uh, corf drama happened I guess? I think that stuff was sorted out probably.
I should have been on Corf's team, because I explicitly asked for a tyrant during the recruitment process.
Frogge
I wanna marry ALL the boys!! And Donna is a meanc

Corf man I always try to give you justification for your actions when it comes to political stuff and I like to think I can see the best in you but honestly what the fuck

I'm also really looking forward to the results! A lot of very good contenders out there for the Tim Tams.

Brother... don't give up on me...
I still like swords

That hasn't changed

Things got fixed I'd rather let the past die (kill it if you have to)

You can't kill the past because it was never alive in the first place

That's like the first rule of killing things
Congratulations to TEAM PENGUIN who just managed to snipe the win!

Indra, Fomar and Frogge will be finding a pack of TimTams each arriving on their doorstep!

It was a very close competition, and a lot of great games came from it, so you should all feel super proud of how well you did!
