Fey

A tale of two unlikely friends struggling to piece together their broken pasts.

Everyone has or will face loss of life and faith. These pivotal times are part of each and everyone of our spiritual journeys. Why then do some people emerge from the crisis with their life and faith intact, while others give up on hope, a future, and their reason for living? For Landon, a young boy now burdened by the mistakes of his past, such moments have weighed heavily on his conscience. It isn't until a mysterious shape shifter named, Picaro, draws him back into his broken past, that Landon can find the means and strength to move on with his life.

The spiritual successor to Darkness Shall Bleed, Fey allows players to take control of, Landon Ferngrass and embark on a journey that will push him to his emotional, intellectual and physical limits as he tries to set his past right and discover the truth behind Oak Island and the legendary artifact of souls, the Fire Pearl.

EXCITING NEWS!

Hello!

It's been a while, but I'm back with some news that I'm excited to share. If you're a fan of anything I've produced, most recognized example being Fey (https://rpgmaker.net/games/778/), then boy oh boy do I have news for you. With the advent of RPG Maker (officially) and the ability to publish to itch.io and Steam, I've been hard at work on What's Left (link below). It is a complete re-imagining of Fey, what it was intended to be. It is important to note that this is not just an official release, but something fresh, new, and more importantly... whole. The original version of Fey was, regrettably, rushed, and over half of the game was cut due to too many reasons to list here. But as time passed, it strengthened the sense of unfinished business. That and some persistent fans and friends finally tipped the scales and I began to revise, expand and rebuild the game from the ground up. What was a couple hour experience now spans 6-8, more if you consider the new side quests, hidden areas, secrets to uncover, tools and weapons, locations, story, dialogue, the ability to purchase a house, get a citizenship, buy furniture for your home, explore chunks of open world and etc. The list goes on, and on, and on. Some more notable things are the revised combat system, the ability to use swap weapons on the fly, the new menu, introduction and branching cutscenes. What I felt was a unique game (with the aim for it to play like a movie) is now a complete experience.... Oh, and for my fans (by popular request) there is a TON more Picaro, including the ability to utilize his unique powers at will. For more information, and to keep up to date on the progress, (Steam page is under construction, along with Youtube page, itch.io, and various others) clink the link below and subscribe. You can also sneak a peak at some more videos and screenshots on my Twitter and Instagram! Make sure to follow on your preferred platform! I appreciate the support and hope you'll share my excitement as I move toward release with in the coming months!!!

Awesome game! Love the story so much! The end made me cry though!

Thank you very much, I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed it and was touched by it. It means a lot to hear that. :)

Well regardless, I appreciate all of the feedback and sorry it didn't hold up to your expectation. I have a focus group for Fey tomorrow to look over everything. So if you have any suggestions and or thoughts then now is the time to share them.
No worries. Live and learn, right? I tend to be pretty critical and nitpicky, but the game was still pretty good overall. Again, your art is fantastic. (And I'm glad to know you implemented a safety net mechanic -- items that can be permanently missed in games always make me incredibly nervous.)

As for more feedback, I think I've already said my part. I may write a fuller review at some point in the future, though.

Thanks anyways, and obviously no hard feelings, I mean, when I went in to this, 8 or so years ago I had a completely different approach to story telling and the story so it's changed drastically over the years so that being said, That sort of transformation is bound to have it's hick ups.
It definitely exceeded my expectations, I apologize if it came off otherwise. My only disapointment was with

Picaro and his lack of presence during the second half of the game. My only suggestion would be to expand/explain charlie's motives. I was just confused why such a wise thing would be so childish at the early point in the game, atleast without reason.

But I loved the game, for sure. It was fun all the way through, though I have to say I had a blast with the whole devlin section, and that final encounter was awe-inspiring.

Thank you very much! I appreciate it. I am looking into tweaking a few things at the moment. I forgot to go back and change the part with Picaro in the beginning so I'm glad someone pointed it out. Specially after you pointed it out, I went back to inspect the overall beginning and you're right, due to gameplay and story purposes I can't extend the amount of time Picaro is in the game but I am going to work very hard at clarifying a few things and cleaning the entire beginning sequence up. Thanks again, I appreciate the feedback, positive, negative, and constructive.

And... DONE!

I finished a short-ish review that I will upload later today. It's on my laptop and I really don't feel like doing the whole USB transfer thing (I don't have wifi...).

Awesome! I'm super excited to hear everything you have to say and look forward to it!

Also, just a quick question, when did you download it and finish it?

I downloaded and finished it pretty much right away, but I didn't encounter any of the bugs mentioned above. I guess I got lucky.
Lol well regardless that's great to hear! :D
I truly wish to play this game since I loved the demo. The short though is I can't get into the temple in act 1 due to the game actually exiting and a new message box opened continuously with the message in it that says not implemented could you please help

I'm not sure what's causing this. But I will look into it asap. Maybe try redownloading it and restarting your computer. If that doesn't do anything, Then I'll see if I can find a way to replicate it, because I can't seem to get this to happen for me. :S
Hey, been playing this today and I just wanted to say I love your style and artwork, animations are fluid, and the design is amazing!

I can see a lot of work was put into this, and the mechanics are
awesome too. Overall, a really great job and game! :)

Thank you. That's great to hear and means a lot. I'm glad you are enjoying it thus far!
Fey is the most fabulous RPG I have played in a very long time. So many wonderful details and inventive elements. I just finished it recently and am already tempted to play it again. If only I could continue on Landon's adventures.

Thank you, I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I originally had DLC planned but I'll just have to wait and see where everything takes me. :D

I'll look into, I might take it to school with me and try it on the computers there because I can't seem to replicate the error on my home computers. Thanks.
If you were to make a logical estimate, how many hours will it take to complete this?

on average fey clocks in around 2 and a half to 3 hours to complete.
Hi,

I was having the same problem with the game crashing at the first temple. After trying various things, I uninstalled DIVX player and codecs and it now works fine.
