NHL 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs / Pool Prediction Thread ~ Kentona's Redemption ~

Also, standard fare, but, for anybody else who doesn’t know by now, here’s who plays who in the 2nd Round:

West Division:
(1) Colorado Avalanche V.S. (2) Vegas Golden Knights

Central Division:
(1) Carolina Hurricanes V.S. (3) Tampa Bay Lightning

North Division:
(3) Winnipeg Jets V.S. (4) Montreal Canadiens

East Division:
(3) Boston Bruins V.S. (4) New York Islanders

Also, at the conclusion of the 2nd Round, the four divisional winners will then be reseeded based on their regular season point totals (which you can find right here) and will then play who based on that. After that, the bracket will then be readjusted.

For anybody else who still wants to participate, I’ll need everyone’s 2nd Round picks in by Thursday, June 3rd @ 4:30 P.M. P.S.T., 7:30 P.M. E.S.T., basically before the start of the Boston / New York Game 3.

I still can't believe Ozzy 100% Barbie Explorer for PS1

I’ve never heard of this game before, it actually looks pretty good for a licenced game on the PS1.

I also like how the developers just combined Crash Bandicoot with Tomb Raider and then slapped Barbie’s face on it, lol.

There goes my chance at winning........

Not entirely, you still have an outside chance of winning the pool if you can happen to get all perfect on your second round picks and neither UPRC or I manage to pick up the 8 point bonus in the Colorado / Vegas series, so it’s technically still possible!

The rest of us only really have to worry about catching up to Kentona as the three of us are so incredibly close to one another in the standings that anything can still happen... It’s also so incredibly close in the standings that either one of us will probably finish in last place - but I digress!

- And speaking of picks, I guess it's time for me to finally pick my potential losers winners:

Golden Knights Over Avalanche In 7 (pretty much need Vegas to win in order to have any chance of winning the pool)
Lightning Over Hurricanes In 6
Canadiens Over Jets In 6 (gonna ride that wave)
Islanders Over Bruins In 6 (because, why not?)

I'm basically just picking the opposite of what Kentona picked and just hoping for the best. I mean...I pretty much have to do well here, and have to have Vegas win their series too in order to have any chance at all.

Playoff Update:

The Montreal Canadiens completed the epic comeback last night by winning three straight games after being down three-games-to-one and defeat the hapless Toronto Maple Leafs in their own barn in Game 7… Montreal will now fly over to Winnipeg to take on the Winnipeg Jets in the 2nd Round starting on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, though...nobody picked the Canadiens to win this series, and nobody had the series going to seven games either, so...the overall standings remain the same.

At the conclusion of the 1st Round, Kentona is still sitting pretty with a 10 Point lead over Kory_Toombs and UPRC for first place. Addit is currently in last place, 12 Points behind Kentona for the lead.

[RM2K3] Do you think it's possible?

For a Street Fighter example, I do remember that Doom 4: End Game had a Street Fighter mini-game in it (which was really cool and really impressive for the time) during one of its multiple story branches that you can take. I do remember (although it’s been a while) that the mini-game was a bit on the laggy side and DEFINITELY not as responsive as an actual Street Fighter game would be…but it’s definitely possible to make!

But, yeah - it's possible to make all sorts of things in 2k3 - as I've seen and have played various different genres in it like board games, platformers, puzzle games...and even a god damn racing game to name some!

Now, how well it performs and how smoothly everything goes will entirely depend on you and how good you are when it comes to your overall eventing skills and general knowledge of the program; and even with that, you're still going to have to work around some of the engine's limitations when attempting to make some of these mini-games for yourself, as it won't come out entirely perfect. It's also a very arduous task that you could probably end up doing a lot better - and much faster - using a different type of program that's more tailor-made for it.

But, long story short: yes. Yes it is possible to make ALL of these things, even in one game!

Oh, and, um...just a quick heads up if you're planning on checking out Dooms 4: End Game for that Street Fighter example, it's...not exactly a very family friendly game as it contains violence, gore, nudity and some disturbing imaginary in it. It's...not TOO bad compared to other games that you would find or discover on the Deep Web that's much, much worse...but it's definitely something that you should know about before giving it a shot.

Good job there Vegas! Way to get completely steamrolled tonight and lure Colorado into a false of security before you happen to turn on the jets and show them your true power.

Also - holy f**k, I've never seen such a lengthy powerplay before in all of my years watching hockey. It's amazing that Colorado only managed to score one goal off of that.

When's the next review event?

author=Shinan
You can make every day a review event by reviewing games.

Yeah…but some people are more motivated to do more things when certain achievos are involved.

Actually, the last pure review event that we had on here was, indeed, the RMN: Review Misao Nominee Event, just like what Marrend said, BUT that happened in 2019 - almost two years ago (hot damn)!

The recent event that we had in February, the RPG Maker 31st Birthday: Release Something Event, was sort of like a review event (because participants in it could submit reviews as well), but…that’s not quite the same thing as an actual review event.

Either way, it's been a really, really long time since we've had one. I'm pretty sure that we'll get one soon in the not-too-distant-future. I mean...come on, you guys gotta eventually give all of the game makers around here a bit of a break from all these constant game-making events! You don't wanna drive them all into the ground, do ya?

@ KrimsonKatt - Also, if all else fails, you could always get this guy to review one of your games. (I heard that he's the best.)

* Me after the Golden Knights won Game 7:

I can’t believe it - THEY DIDN'T CHOKE... THEY. DIDN’T. CHOKE! IT'S A MIRACLE!!!

Despite this though, I still have an awfully...AWWWFULLY steep hill to climb if I ever want to get even the chance of sniffing that second championship in a row... But then I remember last year that I was down by a ton and did TERRIBLE the first round and then everything started to change when Dallas, my last year’s Stanley Cup Pick, went on a bit of a roll and I ended up eventually winning the whole thing. I mean...Colorado isn't going to be as easy as the Wild, but...maybe it can happen again???

Also, apparently, the stupid NHL schedule makers have decided that the 2nd Round will be starting today (Really? We're not going to at least wait for the Maple Leafs and the Canadiens to finish their series first?) with the Islanders playing the Bruins.

I know we still gotta find out whether the Maple Leafs or the Canadiens will play the Jets in the next round, but if you guys wanna make your 2nd Round selections at this time - then it's fine by me! I'll probably wait until the Maple Leafs and Canadiens series comes to a close first before I make my 2nd Round predictions.

- Or, I could always just copy whatever Kentona does and just do that. Buttttt...then I wouldn't be able to gain any ground on him in the standings, so...damn it.

Playoff Update:

The Minnesota Wild’s amazing comeback finally came to an end last night as they couldn’t stave off a 3rd Period surge by the Vegas Golden Knights as they win the series in Game 7 and will now play the Colorado Avalanche in the next round starting on Sunday.

Everybody picked the Golden Knights in this one and all earn themselves 2 Points in the standings. Addit, because the Golden Knights are his Stanley Cup Pick, earns double the points for four!

Not much in the overall standings have changed much after this game, as Kentona still has a 10 Point lead over Kory_Toombs and UPRC for second (who, still, cannot break that deadlock!). However, the extra points now only puts Addit back by 2 for second overall in the standings - so he’s not completely out of it just yet!
